Tun Dato Seri Bin Tun Azmi has vast experience in legal field. He retired as the Chief Justice of Malaysia in September 2011. Upon retirement, he was appointed Chairman of KRU Group of Companies and Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad as well as Director of various public and private companies. - Senior Federal Counsel, Ministry of Home Affairs from 1976 to 1984;
- Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on in 1983;
- Senior Partner of Messrs Shahrizat Rashid & Lee Advocate & Solicitor from 1985 to 2007;
- Federal Court Judge and the President of Court of Appeal in 2007;
- The 12th Chief Justice of Malaysia from 2008 till his retirement on 11 September 2011;
- Chief Justice of Dubai International Financial Center Court in 2018;
- Professor Adjunct for various universities in Malaysia since 2012;
