Dr. Rahim began his career as a lecturer in University of Malaya in 1970. Subsequently, he joined NISIR/SIRIM as a research officer and was later promoted to Director of Research/Acting Controller. He then joined Permodalan Nasional Berhad (“PNB”) and served in the Research Department/CICU and PNB Equity Resources Sdn. Bhd before retiring from PNB in 1999. He also served as the Vice-President-Technology in TITAN Group from 1995 to 1998. He also sits on the boards of directors of several private companies.
