A lawyer and accountant by training, Mr Tan is an MBA qualified senior executive with experience in investment banking, private equity and general management in Malaysia and in the region.
He has wide experience in different industries and his previous roles include regional exposure as the Executive Director of PT CIMB Niaga Sekuritas in Indonesia. He established and headed Special Situation Investments for CIMB Group engaging in the areas of principal and private equity investing and his experience in legal and corporate governance extended to his role as the General Counsel of CIMB Group.
In addition to his investment banking experience, Mr Tan has held leadership and management roles in various industries. He was the Group CEO of Tune Group, a lifestyle-based conglomerate group where he oversaw the different businesses of the group and was also the Executive Director of Tune Ins Holdings Berhad, an insurance holding company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia . He was also the Operations and Business Value Director for the Hong Leong Group, one of the major conglomerates in the region.
Mr Tan is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Taylors Schools.
