Working Experience
Tan Sri Datuk Azhar Bin Azizan @ Harun was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of High Court of Malaya on 28 February 1987. He is currently practicing law at the firm of Messrs. Azhar & Goh. His areas of practice are set out as belows:-
1. Banking and commercial laws;
2. Corporate laws;
3. Corporate receivership, insolvencies and debts and corporate restructurings;
4. Defamation;
5. Election petitions;
6. Building and construction laws; and
7.General laws.
Tan Sri Datuk Azhar also involved in public service where he was the Chairman of the Election Commission from 2018 until 2020 and also was a speaker for Dewan Rakyat from 2020 until 2022.
Other working experiences of Tan Sri Datuk Azhar includes delivered papers on corporate insolvencies, bankruptcies, land laws and human rights as well as the Federal Constitution at various seminars and courses in Kuala Lumpur, was an examiner for the Civil Procedure examination paper for the Certificate of Legal Practice course and also was a tutor in the Law Faculty of University of Malaya.
