Mr Haakon Bruaset Kjoel ("Mr Kjoel") holds a Master of Business Administration degree and studies in public relations from BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo.

Mr Kjoel is the Acting Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer for Telenor Group from 1 July 2018. Prior to this, Mr Kjoel served as the Senior Vice President and Head of Group Public & Regulatory Affairs.
Mr Kjoel joined Telenor Group in 1995 in the domestic mobile operation in Norway. Since then, he has gained extensive international experience through his involvement in Telenor's international mobile network operation activities in Europe and Asia. He played a key role in managing the business environment in the areas of regulatory and public affairs, government and public relations, corporate communications and sustainability, particularly in Asia.
Mr. Kjoel serves on the Board of Directors of several Telenor Group companies in Singapore, Telenor Myanmar, Telenor Pakistan, Dtac in Thailand, Grameenphone in Bangladesh and Digi.Com Berhad in Malaysia. He was appointed as Director in Digi.Com Berhad and Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd on 11 July 2017.

Haakon is a representative of Telenor Malaysia Investments Pte Ltd, a major shareholder of CelcomDigi Berhad. He will abstain from deliberating and voting on the transactions between Telenor Group and CelcomDigi Group.
