Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accountancy from London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom.
She is also a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

She worked as an auditor with Peat Marwick and Co and was a staff accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co from 1990 - 1992. She joined PB Securities Sdn Bhd as an investment analyst in 1992 and as a dealer representative and subsequently as a remisier with the same establishment.
She then joined Plantation & Development (M) Bhd, a company listed on the KLSE in 1995, then joined their board of directors as an Executive Director and subsequently became their Chief Executive Officer in 1999 and spear-headed their restructuring exercise till its completion at the end of 2003.
She had served on the boards of directors of several listed companies, including an ACE-listed company, Karyon Industries Berhad for more than 5 years and main board food-product company, Mamee-Double Decker Berhad for more than 3 years prior to the company going private and also Perduren (M) Bhd for 6 years. She also served as members of the Audit and Nominating Committees of all three companies. She also sat on the Risk-Assessment Committee of Perduren(M) Bhd.
She was an executive director of a company involved in surveillance and traffic safety and she also sits on the board of a few private companies involved in waste-water management, investment holding and tourism.

She currently sits on the board of directors of BSL Corporation Berhad, a company involved in stamping and manufacturing of metal parts and printed circuit board. She also sits on the board of directors of another listed company, Tomypak Holdings Berhad, where she serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee, and a member of the Risk-Assessment Committee and also the Remuneration Committee.
