En. Mohd Hassan has over 20 years of experience in the areas of accounting and finance. He began his career in 1998 as an Audit Assistant. He joined the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Malaysia in 2000 as Assistant Secretary of the Fiscal and Monetary Sector in the Economic Analysis and International Division, and later served as Principal Assistant Secretary of the Division from 2005 to 2009.
Subsequently, he was seconded to the East Asia Pacific Regional Office (EASPR) of The World Bank Group, Washington DC, United States of America (USA) in 2010 for a year. Upon returning from the USA, MoF appointed him as Senior Principal Assistant Secretary of the Balance of Payment Unit in the Fiscal and Economics Division. He was the Head of Section Risk and Debt of the Division from 2014 to 2017. He was also the Deputy Under-Secretary of the Fiscal and Economics Division from 1 December 2017 to 31 October 2020.
