Dato' Idris was formerly the Deputy President and Group Chief Operating Officer of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), one of the largest fund management companies in Malaysia and was overseeing the asset management department. He has more than 30 years of experience in equity evaluation, equity trading and portfolio management of the proprietary and unit trust portfolios.
Dato' Idris began his career as a research analyst with PNB in 1983 undertaking industry and sectorial research and has carved an illustrious career before retiring as the Deputy President and Group Chief Operating Officer of PNB on 31 December 2018.
Currently, Dato' Idris is a nominee of PNB appointed on the Boards of several companies such as Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad, Goodyear Malaysia Berhad and Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (PERODUA). He also sits on the Board of Kumpulan Fima Berhad.
