YB Dato' Haji Zulkifli Bin Long ("Dato' Haji Zulkifli") began his career as an Assistant District Officer and Administrative and Diplomatic Officer of Planning and Development Division, Seberang Perai Utara District and Land Office ("PDTSPU") from 1997 to 2004.
In April 2005, Dato' Haji Zulkifli was appointed as Chief Assistant Secretary (Management Services & Finance) of the Penang State Secretary's Office. He was further promoted as Chief Assistant District Officer (Development), PDTSPU in 2007.
In 2007, Dato' Haji Zulkifli was granted a full-pay leave to pursue his Master Degree in Economics at Universiti Utara Malaysia and he completed his Masters Degree in 2009.
Dato' Haji Zulkifli was appointed as Deputy Director (Macro) of Penang State Economic Planning Unit under Penang State Secretarys Office in 2014. He held the position as a District Officer in various District and Land Office of Penang for the period from 2015 to 2018.
In 2018, Dato' Haji Zulkifli was appointed as a Director of Penang Islamic Religious Affairs Department and Secretary of Penang State Islamic Religious Council. He held the position as Director of Penang Land and Mines Office, and
Penang State Development Office in 2020 and 2024 respectively before he holds the position as State Secretary of Penang in September 2024.

YB Dato' Haji Zulkifli bin Long is deemed interested in the shareholdings held by the major shareholder, State Secretary, Penang in the Company by virtue of his position as State Secretary of Penang State Government.
