He joined Malaysian Airline System Berhad ("MAS") on 1 June 1972 as a Management Trainee. During his career in MAS spanning a period of 32 years, he had gained wide hands-on experience in the areas of Human Resource (HR) Management (which include HR Services, Manpower Planning, Industrial Relations, and Training & Development), Management Development, Marketing & Sales (both Passengers and Cargo), Centralized Purchasing & Procurement, In-flight Catering & Cabin Services, In-flight Services and Flight Operations. His last appointment prior to retirement, which was 31 December 2004, was as Senior General Manager (Corporate Services) and was responsible and accountable for MAS' Legal Affairs, Property Management, Corporate Insurance, Human Resource Training & Development, Government Relations & Corporate Communications, Corporate Safety & Security, Crisis Management and Medical Services. He had also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of MAS' subsidiaries and associate companies such as MAS Hotels & Booutiques Sdn Bhd, MAS Golden Holidays Sdn Bhd, MAS Academy Sdn Bhd, GE Engine Services Malaysia Sdn Bhd, and Pan Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Comintel Corporation Berhad and the Executive Director of Borneo Isthmus Development Sdn Bhd.
