He started his career with Perwira Habib Bank Berhad from 1984 - 1990, holding the last post as the Head of Marketing. In 1991, he joined Primanuri Sdn. Bhd., a company involved in the manufacturing of disposable gowns and drapes used in operating theatres, as General Manager. He later joined Penerbitan Kerabat Sdn. Bhd., a local publication house, from 1994 to 1995 as Marketing Director. In 1994, he set up Chartplus (M) Sdn. Bhd. and took on the position of Group Managing Director.
