Civil, structural and environmental engineering degree at University College, London University, England in 1980.

He joined Malayawata Steel Berhad in 1980 and was fully responsible for the maintenance, alteration, co-ordination, improvement and supervision for the construction of a hundred and twenty million dollars Rolling Mill Project at the state of Penang and then with Jurutera T & T Consultant Sdn Bhd design section on the civil, structural and foundation design of major highrises, factories and deep foundation works. Major works responsible were the computer analysis and design of a number multi-storey highrise and deep foundation including eight storey office block at Green Hall; nine storey apartment at Cantonment Road; ten storey apartment at Anson Road; twenty two storey hotel at Teluk Pahang as well as a steel portal frame warehouse (40 meter clear span) at Prai Industrial Estate. He was also appointed as resident engineer for the supervision of an office complex at Bagan Luar and then with Carmalita Sdn Bhd as a project manager responsible for the administration, co-ordination, supervision and planning the construction of a twenty two storey flat cum shopping complex with basement car park at Kedah Road, Penang. In 1992 he founded the Firm "C H Perunding " with the aim to provide the principal consulting services required for most types of project in Northern Malaysia. At presence, he affiliated with the Institution of Engineers as a corporate member and also registered with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia as a professional engineer.
