Working Experience
Tan Sri Saw joined Shell Malaysia in 1970 and served in various capacities in Manufacturing, Supply, Trading and Planning in Malaysia, Singapore and Netherlands. He was appointed Managing Director of Shell MDS (Middle Distillate Synthesis) Sdn. Bhd. in 1996.
In 1998 he became the Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd., Shell Timur Sdn. Bhd. and Shell Refining (FOM) Berhad, responsible for Shell Malaysia's Downstream business. In 1999, with the globalisation of the Shell Oil Products business, he assumed the role of Vice-President of the Commercial business in the Asia-Pacific region and in 2005, he managed Shell's Marine Oil Products business globally. He was appointed Chairman of Shell Malaysia in 2006. At the same time he also assumed the role of Vice President Business Development Asia Pacific focusing on China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam. He remained in these positions till his retirement in 2010 after 40 years of continuous service.
Currently, Tan Sri Saw is the Senior Non-Executive Independent Director of RHB Bank Berhad, Digi.Com Berhad, and Ranhill Holdings Berhad. He is also the Co-Chair of the Government's Special Task Force to Facilitate Business (PEMUDAH), and a Board member of Malaysian Investment Development Authority and Socio-Economic Research Centre Sdn. Bhd. of Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Malaysia.
