Working Experience
Puan Liza Mustapha was appointed Senior Vice President & Group Chief Financial Officer of PETRONAS on 1 July 2020. She began her career as a junior executive 25 years ago in the finance department of PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd, the exploration and production subsidiary of PETRONAS, and in the ensuing years held various positions within the PETRONAS Group. This includes Chief Financial Officer of PETRONAS Gas Berhad, a gas infrastructure and utilities company and Senior General Manager of PETRONAS Group Treasury where she led the implementation of centralised treasury management for PETRONAS groupwide. Thereafter she took on the role of Chief Financial Officer for the Upstream Business, which encompassed exploration and production, LNG liquefaction and LNG Marketing & Trading. In addition, she was responsible for Risk Management and ICT as well as the setting up of PETRONAS Reserves Group as an independent unit under Upstream Finance. Puan Liza was subsequently appointed Group Financial Controller, after which she took on the role of Vice President Group Procurement, prior to assuming her current position. Puan Liza is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, majoring in Accounting and Finance from The London School of Economics, UK. She also attended the Advance Management Programme at The Harvard Business School and sits on the boards of several companies within the PETRONAS Group.
