She commenced her banking career in 1979 with (the former) Pacific Bank Berhad (now part of the Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank) Group after a merger exercise in Year 2001) for 21.5 years and subsequently with Maybank for another 17 years before she opted for early retirement in Year 2018 as Vice-President, Product Trade where she was involved in operational excellence project to clean up problematic accounts and originating trade finance deals with solutions and trade structure proposals.
Her career in Maybank progressed when she was picked to take charge of regional trade business and the Banks overseas branches in South-East Asia, London, New York as well as affiliates in Vietnam and Pakistan for 4 years.
Her roles were to provide advisory services, to enhance capabilities and core competencies in both sales and operations to expand trade business, to conduct country-specific international trade market analysis to identify potential business, to review and monitor trade finance business strategies and action plans, to establish trade finance strategic alliance within the Group for trade packages or programs to boost revenue, to identify new business opportunities and work with strategic partners.
Throughout her long-standing career in the banking industry, she has held various position for both domestic and regional markets.
She is a trade specialist by profession for more than three decades in financing supply chain and developing cross border trade structure and solutions.
She has also a wide array of commercial banking experience ranging from operations to middle office to regional sales.
