YM Tunku Afwida Tunku A.Malek commenced her career as a Chartered Accountant in Touche Ross & Co, United Kingdom in 1988.
Subsequently, Tunku Afwida joined Henderson Administration, United Kingdom as Unit Trust Fund Accountant in 1992 and Rashid Hussain Asset Management, Malaysia as Fund Manager and Analyst in 1993. Tunku Afwida then joined United Overseas Bank, Singapore as Manager and Equities Analyst in 1994 and later joined Commerce Asset Fund Managers Sdn Bhd, Malaysia as Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer in 1995. In 2003, Tunku Afwida joined MIMB Investment Bank Berhad (formerly known as Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Berhad) as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. In 2006, Tunku Afwida became the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad (formerly known as K & N Kenanga Bhd). Currently, Tunku Afwida is a Shareholder and Director of Asia Equity Research Sdn Bhd and Benih Semaian Sdn Bhd. Tunku Afwida sits on the Boards of Gamuda Berhad, Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad, PUC Founder (MSC) Berhad and i-VCAP Management Sdn Bhd
as an Independent Director and is a member of the Board of Governors at Convent Bukit Nanas.
