Maylee Gan Suat Lee ("Maylee") joined Messrs. Lee Hishamuddin Allen & Gledhill in 2004 as a legal associate in the corporate department from 2004 to 2008, and thereafter she founded her firm Messrs. Maylee Gan & Tai in 2008.
She has over 16 years of experience in providing legal services in corporate matters to clients in a wide range of industries. Her portfolio of clients include a wide range of public listed companies and multinational corporations in various industries including those in real estate development and construction, investment, retail and consumer banking and financial services, private equity funding, fintech, peer to peer lending, automotive, electronics and information technology, industrial manufacturing, oil and gas. Amongst the key area of her practice are commercial and corporate matters, merger and acquisition, securities and capital markets, compliance and regulatory matters, banking and finance including corporate fiancé and cross-border financing), technology contracts, real estate, intellectual property, tax matters, industrial relation matters, civil litigation matters, and estate planning matters. In addition, She was the lead council in charge of the largest worldwide business disposal to-date which involves the worldwide sale of a healthcare business division in 2006, and the largest Asset-Backed Securities transaction carried out by a listed corporation in Malaysia in the year 2008.
Maylee graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of London in 1999, obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2000 and obtained her Masters of Science in Information Technology (MSc IT) from the University of Staffordshire in 2004. She was admitted and enrolled as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2005. She is also a registered company secretary the Companies Commission of Malaysia, and a member of the Fintech Association of Malaysia (FAOM) member and the Malaysian Association of Company Secretary.
