Quoted investment is RM 231m,cash at 69m indicate it is dam rich counter. Based on current price of 85sen,dividend yield is almost double compared with FD.
With regard draw down of cash and equivalent from 80m to 70m,the 10m was used to purchase equities if you read the full financial report.
The fair value gain of investment is reported as revenue not as profit but it is an asset, that is why NTA has gone up to RM1.72.

Harbour's 9 months profit is already 30.79 sen per share and its NTA is RM 1.78. Coming QR is expected to be released within 10 days and the full year profit will be very exciting.

KLSE is moving in cautious mode due to current political uncertainty and weak ringgit.
Hexza is traded at rock bottom price in spite of its substantial holdings in NASDQ traded in USD. Currently Apple, Nvidia and Facebook are traded at all time high. The coming year ending result will be very impressive.

In the proposed deal just announced between Sungei Bagan and Nyalas Rubber Holding, Kuchai will be transacted at RM 2.37. Currently traded price for Kuchai looks attractive.

Dividend 5 sen at the cost of 70 sen is well better than putting FD in bank. It is a good counter for investment. Very few counters traded below 1 ringgit can pay such dividend every year.

Demand for carton boxes will be strong during festive season December and January same with the hotel occupation. Next 2 quarters earning should be good for PPHB.

Cherry 88 gives a very good advice. Stockraider may make money with MF you may continue doing so.Others can continue to invest by holding stocks within their means. Simple as that.

Stock market goes up and down. MF is good friend for speculators in uptrend but turns killing enemy when down.Most important when we enter the market,take care not to lose so much and don't expect to get rich overnight. Prudent investors will buy under value stocks with low gearing and hold .Rising tide lift all ships. Investors may make less money than MF speculators if both selling on right time during rising tide but they are contented.When tide is suddenly down investors will keep the shares under their pillows on paper loss but it will be a painful night for MF speculators if they encounter margin call.

High NTA value trap? Not applicable to every counter, you need to do your homework and pick the right one. On buying a high NTA counter,you are getting it with discount some may be a quarter to one third of NTA. Some high NTA counters may be cash rich,debt free with good management what you need is to have patience and may have to wait for some months or years.

Insas has some similarities with Kuchai in holding quality stock,very low dividend,good balance sheet, cash rich, undervalued and ignored by the fund managers. Don't give up hope in Insas.

Good chance for limit up,only 3 cents away. Even that, it is still 50% of the NTA only.

This counter is tightly held by 30 major shareholders and being a small paid up and low free float it can be easily cornered and pushed up by syndicate.

Kluang holds 51.6% of Kuchai. Assuming taking over kuchai at RM 2, it needs about RM120m to buy up the balance 48.4% .Kuchai has free cash of about 46m plus 2m of precious metal, Kluang only needs to sell off 700k of GE at SGD 30 is already enough to take over Kuchai. Look, at RM2 take over offer it is very very cheap.

Kuchai holds 3.03m GE and Sungai Bagan holds another 1.72m GE. Kuchai also hold 27% of Sg Bagan.

Great Eastern is now traded above 30 SGD. Smart people are accumulating this counter.

If a couter is making profit every year and NTA keeps going up. I will bet on this counter. Poor dividen and unfriendly management may have caused the low price level but worth accumulating. After all the management is not that bad in considering the net cash and sound balance sheet. In the horse racing some one will bet on the jockey(friendly management and good dividen) and another will bet on the horse(NTA and sound balance sheet). I always bet on the horse and not the jockey. I enter the stock market first thing is to ensure not to lose money and buy undervalued stocks for long term.

Kluang,Sg Bagan,and Kuchai are few of the oldest listed companies dated back to 1950. They are held by one of the richest family in those days. They never ask for right issue or on private placement or given any warrants because they are rich and very conservative. the recent run up may be due to appreciation of GE and possibly listing of 30%GE Malaysia which has to be complied by June 2018. If we buy in a share with one third of NTA, cash rich and reliable management you are safe in the long run. This counter is not for speculation but good bet for long term investment.

Low PE and P/BV is one of the yardstick in picking a safe stock. Stock market is not static, it keeps moving up or down.Low P/BV stock is always safer when market down. First thing in investing is not to lose to much and anticipating of good return by holding on with the undervalue stocks

Kuchai is the third and Sg Bagan the fifth largest shareholders of Great Eastern according to Bloomberg. OCBC holds 88% of GE.Losses from Kluang and Sg.Bagan are impairment losses from the available for sale investment which I believe is their holdings on Singapore Plubishing House.

Kuchai is the major shaerholder of Sungai Bagan. Kuchai holds 3 million Great Eastern and Sg Bagan holds another 1.7million. From Bloomberg, Kuchai ranks the third and Sg Bagan the fifth largest sharehoder in GE. GE Malaysia has to float 30% shares in Malaysia by June 2018.
Kuchai is held by relative of Lee Rubber family. The ancestor formed OCBC bank and they are still the major holder of OCBC.Recently Lee Rubber has started to sell off their assets in Malaysia.
Kuchai has only one employee in the company,very simple for privatisation or restructuring.
Don't blame the old man,it is he who places Kuchai in this solid position. It is his way of management by paying small dividen that causes the price cheap against the NTA. It has provided good opportunity for us to enter into this counter. I thank the honest old man for me to collect the share for the past years.

Betting on Kuchai is very safe.It is undervalue,and cash rich. Sungai Bagan also holds 1.7m Great Eastern.

When the person bought Insas he said is cheap after he sold it he said is not transparent. How much you can trust such a statement like this? How many of the listed companies are really transparent? Insas is just technically over bought last week and ithe correction will be over soon and will find its way up.

Don't judge based on one quarter loss.There are four quarters in a year. The full year result will be better and dividend is expected to be at least 4 sen or more. Be confident and hold this stock for longer term.

Based on the 1st quarter EPS at 8 sen the year end EPS may be around 20sen. Use your commonsense Insas will be still be traded at below RM1? Don't forget about the NTA at that time,at RM1 it is still under valued. Insas is currently standing on its own feet at the current price. When market is active,there will be analyst highlighting on this counter followed by price hike. Be patient with confidence and hope for the best.
