This company has 9 international patents which is highly valuable.......many people don't fully appreciate the high value of patents. Vitrox similarly has such value.

CCK's operational profit ( disregarding share of associated company profit which is an accounting entry only and is a non-cash flow item) is much higher than preceding quarter. Many people don't understand this, so they sell....

Excellent results from CCK. Net profiit up 52% year on year. Although on the surface, net profit this quarter is lower than preceding quarter, ( 5.853 million versus 7,175 million ), it's due to share of associated company profit (0.870 million this quarter versus 2.826 million in preceding quarter). If excluding associated company profits, this quarter's net profit would be 4.983 million versus 4.349 million in preceding quarter, up 15%. So, it's excellent results if you analyse it in further details.

Coming quarter results should be very good especially without the accounting goodwill impairment of rm 3.6 million provided last quarter.

with these results they comfortably qualify for a transfer to the main board...

Usuallly the more the delay, higher the cost. But profit recognition also delayed.

Nicholas Loo Chu Wei, according to Kenanga Investment Bank's research report dated 4 October 2016 it said " That said, we also believe that the next re-rating catalyst for Gkent is higher construction cost for LRT 3 above RM 9 billion as this would further increase their profitability based on the PDP fees of 6%." So, if the project cost increases, the PDP partners would earn more.

This is a growth company with growing revenue, not depending on forex gains. Investment stock, not short term trading.

Tekseng is not just an export theme whereby many export companies make significant forex gains without much revenue growth. The major difference here is significant revenue growth in Tekseng. It is real business growth, not just exchange gains which may be temporary. In fact, Tekseng is not benefitting from dollar strength; it is actually losing from dollar strength.
2016-02-15 22:19 | Report Abuse
It is very difficult to find good companies to invest nowadays. The management of Tekseng must be congratulated for their vision and boldness to materialize and create such shareholders' value today!!! Well done, but more work is still needed to further enhance shareholder's value. Congrats!!!
2016-02-13 22:20 | Report Abuse
The recent EDGE report mentioned that 80% of Tekseng's solar cell sales are to Taiwan and China. Hence not so much implication from the EU anti-dumping extension. But Tekseng may be exempted anyway.

If you look at their profit history, their Q3 is always seasonally lower maybe due to holidays season in China. It always strongly rebound inQ4. This year should be no different.
2015-11-30 19:24 | Report Abuse
Net profit after tax up 70%. If Q4 has similar results, then FY2015 net profit will hit RM 15million, easily. Very commendable, inspite of China slowdown.

At the rate Evergreen group is making profits and generatig cash flows now, there is a very high probablity of them resuming dividend payments from this year onwards.

The Q2 results are indeed superb. Analysts forecasts that their glory days are back are indeed true. This means their share price ought to at least return to their previous record high in 2006. Annualized eps works out to a PE of only 10 at current price which is way below its peers Thailand and Donghwa Korea of about 16. Still undervalued in view of ringgit dollar rate of 4.10. Coming quarters should be even more brilliant in view of their production automation revamps.

Penta is heading in the right direction after suffering losses in the past years. Now the industry is in great shape and the company has improved its internal cost efficiencies. The strong US dollar also favors it. Business-wise, Penta sells automation technology to the rubber gloves industry and the Malaysian rubber gloves industry is the largest in the world. Due to escalating labour costs, other manufacturers are also looking into automation. The future of Penta should be very good.

Brent crude oil price is now at US$ 55 per barrel and trending downwards. This will be very good for export based manufacturers like Evergreen. In addition ringgit may further weaken to 3.85 in the near future, also good for exporters like Evergreen. US home sales data is also very strong and strongly trending upwards. Looks like all the macro indicators are favoring export-based companies like Evergreen in the foreseeable future.

One important factor often overlooked by investors is the liquidity of the shares traded. Even if the business fundamentals are good, big investors will not buy in unless there is reasonably good liquidity in a company. Evergreen has good liquidity and thus will deserve a higher PE rating. It's PE rating is currently below it's peers' average because of its past sufferings. This situation is now steadily changing as it attracts institutional funds.

What is Evergreen's fair market price? One way is to compare its 2015 estimated PE ratio with its peer Vanachai , Thailand. Vanachai's PE ratio is 16. Evergreen's PE ratio has recently increased significantly to about 12 given the recent share price appreciation. If Evergreen's PE ratio were to be 16, then it's fair value can be Rm2.55. It should be able to achieve this by the end of the year.

Wkkht. For an idea of how high and how long Evergreen's potential share price can further rise, consider this: The current bull market started in march 2009 and it is already more than 6 years old. However Evergreen's share price had started falling from its record high of rm 2.16 in 2007 until it bottomed out below rm0.50 in December 2014 i.e. about 6 years of decline. Its share price started rebounding in January 2015 until today for 6 months. Thus Evergreen's bull run is about 6 months old as compared to the global stock market bull run of 6 years. This implies that the general stock market is already fully or over valued in an aging bull market.Evergreen, being a significant laggard is seeing a profit turnaround and is now being recognised as under valued in comparison to the whole stock market. No wonder some investment funds are pouring into Evergreen now, especially when it is still trading below its NTA per share. You can say that it is one of the rare jewels left in an aging bull market !

Mieco is following in the tailwind of Evergreen. Fundamentally ,however, Mieco is much weaker than Evergreen in many aspects.Just in the area of net profit margin, Mieco's net margin is 3.5% versus more than 10% for Evergreen. On top of that Mieco will be shifting its entire manufacturing facility to a new location this year. This is quite risky as it may affect or disrupt their operations ( hence profitablilty ) if not carried out smoothly. So invest in Mieco with caution.Evergreen's future profitability is much more visible, as mentioned by HLG Research's latest report issued yesterday. It is still highly undervalued as compared to its international peers Vanachai,Thailand and Donghwa Korea.

ethan1986, Evergreen has no relation to China's economy.Evergreen's main markets are Europe, USA and Middle East. In fact China is one of the largest producers of MDF in the world for their own consumption and exports.

Evergreen is the top 5 MDF manufacturer in Asia. Its PE ratio however is about half that of Thailand's Vanachai and Korea's Donghwa. Evergreen's shares are traded with reasonable liquidity on Bursa Malaysia. Also Evergreen's shares are traded below its net tangible assets. This counter is still largely overlooked by the investment community at the moment. Buying on dips is still the best strategy.

The Greek issue, 1MDB ,China stocks correction, etc, etc are all adding to the scenario of a weak ringgit, strong dollar, and lower oil prices. All these are highly positive to Evergreen's future profitability. Looks like an excellent buying opportunity here. The ringgit is now traded at 3.80 to the dollar, back to the previous pegged exchange rate which will particularly benefit exporters in US currency.

Peiyen2006 is right -this is the reformed, stronger, new Evergreen 2, the second coming. Buying on dips will be a very good strategy. You can already notice the steady buying support on a daily basis.

If you were to read HLG's 17 June research report on Evergreen more carefully, you will notice it mentioned that the group is also going upstream which has higher profit margins. Upstream means furniture and housing products etc. Think of Poh Huat, Latitude, Homeritz,Signature, Lihen, etc. How are their profits? This means Evergreen will become a fully integrated group in their industry, from growing rubber wood, producing glue and resins to furniture etc.Perhaps this will be the first fully integrated MDF group in the world. Management is very focused and committed to their business. Should have a bright future in the medium to long term.

The beauty of this counter is that it is still largely ignored by the major research houses, except only for one HLG. This is actually a good situation to be in!

kmohan62, that is very possible because Evergreen's production lines have now been entirely upgraded to the latest technology, meaning their profit margins could now be much higher than before. Or at least they should be more competitive than in the past.

At noon today, ringgit against dollar has weakened further to 3.7845.The Greek issue is causing a further strengthening of the dollar. Evergreen is further benefitting from this. Golden opportunity to collect more shares.

The ringgit is now at 3.72 versus US dollar and I believe it will weaken further to 3.90 or 4.00 even when the Fed raises interest rates in 2 months time. Imagine what a boost this will do to Evergreen's profits ahead !!

Also once their Malaysian particle board plant has been completely revamped using latest technologies, (which they seemed to have been doing for the past 1 year) their quarterly profits will surely jump up tremendously. I think their profits will exceed their previous record.
