PETALING JAYA: Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd’s (BHIC) second-quarter net profit has grown by almost three times to RM25.3mil from RM9.16mil a year ago.

The company’s revenue for the quarter was lower at RM69.75mil from RM72.92mil a year ago due mainly to conditional approved variation orders for the oil and gas Belum Topside project in the current quarter.

Its earnings per share grew to 10.17 sen per share from 3.69 sen per share in the same quarter a year ago, while net assets grew to RM1.11 from RM1.09 per share.

BHIC also said its operating costs were lower in the current quarter due mainly to a revision in the project cost under defence-related maintenance, repair and overhaul.
