The Tourism and Sports Ministry will highlight Thailand's potential as an aviation hub in Asean in a bid to draw more visitors and revenue as global tourism continues to grow.

AirAsia Group founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tony Fernandes says the pan-Asian carrier is looking into the establishment of a new holding company to contain the group's ASEAN-based units i.e. (Malaysia) AirAsia, Indonesia AirAsia, Philippines AirAsia, and Thai AirAsia.

According to the New Straits Times, Fernandes told a press conference this week the move would likely go ahead following the listing of AirAsia's Indonesian and Filipino affiliates, likely early next year.

MAS is still recovering from damage done...but AA keeps expanding...Imagine: Share placement of RM 1b + Sales of AAC RM 4b + Net Profit possible RM 2B = AA has an ammunition of RM 7 Billion in its arsenal.
