In the US, their season and common flu vaccines can be bought OTC with just a VA or MO's prescription. Can't imagine the Covid to be available at the local Pharmacies or Drugstore for the next 5-10 years. Even the Swine Flu vaccines are not available yet.

These newly crowned Covid vaccines are for prevention and NOT a cure. It's to create herd immunity to break the chain and to prevent and contain the spreading. These vaccines are such precious commodities that some countries like India (has announced) and USA (Trump declared) that the supply needs to be for local injections before allowed to be exported to other countries.

To assist in the nationwide vaccination, and a piece of the pie, some Private hospitals are hoping that the govt would allow them access to whichever vaccine deemed to have NPRA, CTIL and MTEC, and even FDA approval, certification and accreditation. And there is only ONE company with INJECTABLE Drugs License in Malaysia to comply with just that.

PM has ordered for additional procurement of Vaccines from SUPPLIERS. Govt has confirmed order for Pfizer (20% population) and COVAX (10%) and hope to increase herd immunisation to 70% population.

When KJ announced the purchase details which is "Delivered to Destination" That does not mean the vaccine is delivered to the hospitals, vaccination centers, rural clinics and out-of-reach villages. The vaccination process may take a whole year, given the supply shipments and the local networking. The govt may be providing FREE, but someone needs to settle the bills for the work to be done in handling, distributing and nurses. (Each Pfizer vial/bottle is good for 5 shots and needs to be diluted with Saline) PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME THEY WOULD COME FREE OF THE SERVICES?

Malaysia is expecting and schedule for some Pfizer in March, 2021, which some are still doubtful as the queue is long, demand is extremely high with supplies out-striped. Pfizer plant in Michigan is producing 500 million shots per year with their Swiss plant delivering 600 million shots. Their orders overshot their supplies.

Singapore as reported yesterday, shall be receiving their Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccines by end Dec, 2020. Their PM Lee and his colleagues in Cabinet is in line for the early shots to show their confidence for this EUA (Emergency Use Authorised) vaccine.

Pfizer Gen-2 vaccine which is still in the pipeline and shecduled release in 2Q, DOES NOT need -70 degrees storage and cold chain deliveries. It is at the same temperate as vaccines from Moderna, AstraZeneca and the Russian's Sputnik, which is at -2 to -4 degrees.

Going back to pre-Covid, RM1.30 to 1.60 must be a joke.

However, there are on Pharmaceutical counters, under which some are retailing and others to be part of govt's networking, distribution and well laid infra-structure of public administration for decades. The pandemic has given some unexpected duties to be part of the govt's effort for mass immunisation, which might be performed by GLCs, thus a little more benefits. Do you expect the related "unexpected" requirement for healthcare is FREE of charge?

KJ's speech in Parliment today : “I want to clarify — and the health minister is on my left — that the announcements made involving private companies and companies that are producing vaccines have nothing to do with the government procurements.


“Any (private) companies can negotiate with international companies, to be their agent or distributor but we cannot control if they want to strike commercial deals.

“But if they don’t get approval from clinical research Malaysia, they cannot conduct clinical trials here,” Khairy told the Dewan Rakyat today during his winding-up speech at the committee level.


At the same time, Khairy said if private companies failed to get relevant approvals such as the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency under the Health Ministry, they cannot bring Covid-19 vaccines into Malaysia.

“So I want to say this to market investors. The announcement made by these (private) companies does not mean that they have an allocation from the government.

The built-up has been long way back from above 2.30, 2.80, 3.20 then at 4.00. Twice breached 4.30 and pulled back. Failed the 4.15 many times. It's time to retest the support below 3.90 and hope it can re-test resistance at 4.20 But it would be a bad signal if it cannot.

Price at 4.00 is fairly valued. If the distribution and GLC are not factored in, it's a crime to be trading at PE of 51x. But would there be any opportunity for it to drop, say 5%, back to 3.80? Having said that, the vials are not to be construed as a DIY item to be picked up at pharmacies and plunge into your arms, commando style. The storage, transportation, data registration and collections, coupled with the administration could only be in hospitals or Immunisation Centers allocated and approved by the Govt under MOH.

We picked Pharmaniaga and Dp way back in March 2020, as a Vaccine is the most possible and probable way to contain the deadly virus. Pharma has been awarded the Government Contact the past 26 years as the Logistic, delivery and distributions channels to all hospitals. Their Contract expired in end 2019 and extended in Jan 2020 for 18 months. Ph may be the courier or postman, Dp would be a force to be involved in this tic-tac team for the Government, given that most medicine of Dp is for hospitals, govt and private as well as public pharmacies. As Govt has procured 20% from Pfizer and 10% under COVAX Agreement for the people, there still another 40-50% for herd immunity, if not more.

Yes, Dp cannot be compared with the giant pharmaceutical companies listed on Dow and priced at US$30 to above US$80 per share as Dp may just be US$1 here. However, the potential and prospect of Dp having a reasonable hand in the local markets, being under Government contracts should out-reach others.

It's hard to see on basis of high demands on book-orders and current low production to have a single vial reaching our shores in 1Q 2021. Moreover, MOH has reiterated that all Vaccines should have FDA approval, NPRA certification, CTIL reviewed data and MTEC before being imported into the country and distributed into public. MOH has also implied that they should "wait and see" the response and reactions for the next 3-4 months, upon UK having the shots approved days ago.

Immunisation is not the same as a "CURE". The intention is to have the antigens in our bodies for us to create a "block" and dispel the awful virus before it can attack us. Herd immunity is ideal if can be achieved at 70% of populations.
