"The Chinese have a culture spanning some 2,000 years to chase wealth and success. The Malays just entered the fray when we had the new policy introduced. If I provide the opportunity for success to someone who has never experienced success, there is a big chance they might fail,"

If you know that why do u keep on giving taxpayers money to people you know will end up losing all those money for nothing? The NEP doesnt benefit anybody in fact it make the Malays worse off. Because they get into public universities based on quota not merit the Chinese get very angry. And then once they graduated no Chinese companies wants to employ them unless they work lower level jobs or they cant find enough qualified Chinese candidates. The Malay businessmen are too complacent and because the government provide capitals to unqualified business people at the first place, usually after 5-6 years these businesses will go kaput. So Malay businesses can't help to employ the Malays. It explains why Malay graduates are the poorest and unemployment are lowest among them. Whenever my Chinese friends say I benefitted from NEP I wonder which part of my life is easy? I cant get a job after graduating for over a year and once I got a job I was stucked doing minimum wage jobs with salary RM 1,800 for years. Meanwhile all of my Chinese friends have no problem making RM 2,800, 3000 per month. Almost half of all job vacancy on job ads have "must be able to speak Chinese" requirements. I gain zero from NEP in fact 99% of Chinese has a far easier path than I or most Malays do in life. The NEP doesnt help the Malays, it makes them worse.
