FongKimLun , Fine might not be a strong deterrent. Jail time would do the job nicely.

A golden opportunity for jobless youths to apply for screening jobs at Finas. Better do it online. Everybody can then apply as age is non-issue as long as u have keen eyesight and sharp critical political minds.

Good job Fahmi! That's the way to be an opposition leader. Now, wished Anwar said something as well to double down!

Malaysia boleh!! Speaker can even ask Prosecutor to drop charges, no? Not the kind of New Malaysia we had in mind.

The legislative arm of government does not take precedence over the judiciary.
Is this House Speaker Azhar Azizan ‘Art’ Harun's first act of partiality for Perikatan Nasional (PN)? Will he write to the judge if it is a Harapan MP? Not that any Harapan MP is expected to be charged and tried for any criminal offence.

The kerfuffle generated by the government's move, coming at the same time as the Top Glove affair, may make other foreign media organisations interested in the plight of migrant workers and refugees in Malaysia...which to my mind would be a very good thing. We might hope to see even more documentaries and investigative reporting on this issue. And hopefully an improvement in labour rights in Malaysia as a result, or at least greater awareness of the issue, which would be a first step towards improvement.
As the government clamps down on the media locally, Malaysians will be increasingly reliant on foreign media to reveal what is going on on the ground on this and other issues. My personal hope is that it won't be just Al Jazeera but also regional media (Indonesia, Philippines...) who will come in to give us a helping hand during this dark period for FoE we are entering.

The government should proof Al jazeera wrong. From the look of it we are giving the impression that there is truth to the documentary.
We are barking at the wrong tree

The program failed not because the program is not good. Everywhere else in the world particularly in developed countries, STEM subjects are taught in English because the terminoloiges are all in English. Just look at Singapore. The program in Malaysia failed because of the teachers' attitude. Don't blame it on the program, blame in on the teachers. And don't just blame language for polarization, please. There are much bigger issues, often polarization are deliberately played up by UMNO and PAS politicians.

It was a failure because, you have wrong teachers teaching. There are so many qualified Non Malay who speaks good English, train them as teacher. They can do wonders. Instead, you go to US, UK, India for thier teachers...???? Decisions made by the ministry to be blamed!!! Malays can be trained to do well in English if we good teachers!

From an Art to a Fart.
Fart Harun, your appointment and partisan conduct stinks to high heaven.
Looking at the picture here, you and the other PN stooges seem to smugly enjoy the smell of each other's flatulence.

As Foreign Minister, Hisham seems to be lost at sea on the encroachment of aliens in our waters. Perhaps, the previous administration under his cousin Najib, had a quid pro quo agreement with China for help in solving the 1MDB fiasco? On the surface, it seems that Malaysia is turning a blind eye on China’s ambitions in the disputed seas in exchange for overpriced contracts. The monies from these contracts were meant to cover the big hole caused by the kleptocrats? In the process, we would have lost sovereignty over a big swath of area that has potential mineral deposits. What a messy and turbulent situation.

This started when Najib was PM and Hishamuddin was Defence Minister. Najib needed China's help on 1MDB and turned a blind eye. Hisham was too scared to do anything despite Navy commander complaining about it.

Singapore has similar diplomatic ties with China too but the latter wouldn’t dare encroach on Singapore waters because Singapore has very good relationship with the US which is a strategic move. We, on the contrary would like to pick a fight with the US for whatever Israel does but wouldn’t dare a whisper when China mistreats the Uighurs. Survival as a country is all about diplomacy and alignment with the right forces. Like it or not - contacts do matter.

"After intensive diplomatic efforts"
I always take whatever Hishamuddin says with a pinch of salt. Can he be so reckless or is he trying to appease the Chinese. Najib made the country so heavily indebted to the Chinese.

For right or left the people must be firm. If we stick to Anwar then so be it. We have seen enough of TUN, umno-the catalyst which destroys rather than building unity.
