Thanx TESSA for gonna scout around for interested parties. Abt my co...let's just say to-b-advised in due time. We're based in KL n one of our subs is an investment co primarily in d maritime industry. Purpose of disposal - cost management. Root cause analysis - lack of oversight at initial stage due to "investment" status. Some r with charter - time n spot. Some r laid up.
No bro CT, am not with TAS.. :)
My regret...sold TAS too soon!coz I did get d news dat maritime fund will be getting another rm3 B before was made known during d budget. Only was too bz n that info was not further digested by me!!u see, with d fund, shipowners would indirectly profit from it. The shipbuilders like TAS r d ones who would be directly impacted...and almost immediately!say co ABC orders a vessel from TAS with financing from d maritime fund. TAS would be paid progressively but at least they'll get paid almost immediately while for ABC they will hv to wait 3 years before they can generate income from the vessel they ordered from TAS.
so with outright purchase of commissioned vessels now would save 3 years of waiting time..that's a lot of $$$ coz they charter by per day basis..paid in USD (RM also have lah) and the charter rates runs in the thousands (per day)...and we're not talking about small kucirat thousands!!
