Genting Berhad business is lucrative with profit margin of 28.5%. The gross profit wasn’t great due to temporary depreciation charges and foreign exchange loss! What most important is that Genting Berhad has better current asset (net worth) QoQ, RM102,509,573,000 (Dec 2022) vs RM102,448,115,000 (Dec 2021). Interestingly, Genting berhad has been clearing off short term and long term borrowings for the past one year even though we are still in transitioning moment from the COVID pandemic. Not to forget to highlight that Genting Berhad has cash in bank of RM 21,918,770,000, roughly the same as in Dec 2021. With the huge cash reserve and high profit margin, personally is confident that Genting Berhad will perform better in the 1st quarter and beyond! Cheers!

Genting Berhad QR out! Let’s dissect it!
1. Gaming Sector
RWG - Higher EBITDA (improved to 622.4 from 570.2)
RWS - Higher EBITDA (improved significantly to 866.3 from 231.1)
RWUK, Egypt - Lower EBITDA (weaken to 60.3 from 73.9)
RWUS, Bahamas - Higher EBITDA (improved to 356.9 from 210.3)

2. Plantation Sector - Higher EBITDA (improved to 164.7 from 161)

3. Power - Lower EBITDA (weaken to 66.8 from 134.6)

4. Oil & Gas - Lower EBITDA (weaken to 102.3 from 114.7)

5. Property - Lower EBITDA (weaken to 12.3 from 13.6)

Above all contributing to profit before taxation of RM119.80 million recorded in this current quarter!

Lower profit in current quarter due to depreciation charges, foreign exchange loss!

Looking to the future, Genting Berhad business is growing with improving profit margins!

International tourism is expected to rebound to near pre pandemic levels, hence, gaming sector is expected to remain intact with pent-up demand!

GenP anticipates improvement in FFB production by additional harvesting area, progression of mature areas into higher yielding brackets.

Petroleum production in Chengdaoxi Block at Bohai Bay, China and Kasuri Block at Papua, Indonesia will contribute significantly in coming months!

All in all, Genting Berhad business is intact and will improve further! If business is not sustainable, Genting Berhad will not be able to declare any dividends!
