Possibly rolling 4Q PE ratio will go below 3.0?

AirAsia cash in the bank is RM4.432 billion. Wonder how busy is Tony's phone ringing with offers and proposals. In this bearish market situation, AirAsia is full of cash. Just for fun I checked and saw Petronas (Petgas) cash balance is RM3.07 billion.

This is a good result. Most of us on this forum tend to forget items in the company financial reports/accounts. The deferred taxation of RM515 million that powered this qtr net profit is surely in line with previous quarters reports, just that now the whole leasing company assets has been fully disposed off. Overall, not much surprises just that the operating profit is healthier than expected. AirAsia Malaysia operations is doing well, and AirAsia's portion of the subsidiaries' losses is only 59.3 million.

Yeah this is actually a good qtr result overall. Net profit of 361 million without including income from sale of the planes/disposals. AA basically showed they are resilient even against the spike in oil prices from Mar-June and despite Thai, India losses. Only that the expected special dividend is pushed back to later.

If AA net profit is ~1 billion including the sale proceeds that will be very good already. Two thumbs up and clap hands share price go up. A "bad" result maybe net profit ~500 mill or lower including the sale proceeds.

Hard to say "insiders are selling". So far this AM the bigger volume are buying back up.

Ya it's not yet received all the money yet right? Looking at the past Bursa announcements, this qtr received sale proceeds is ~732 million on 29 June. That works out to 732/3342 = about 22 sen per share. If this round special div maybe 10-20 sen will be given.
Next round in Q3 July-Sept the received sale proceeds more than 1 billion. Special div closer to 30-40 sen. Last round in Q4 Oct-Dec the biggest chunk of sale proceeds. Special div more than 40 sen. This estimate should be about correct looking at the statements. Total special div about 80-88 sen, and imo they distribute in staggered way like this will be better, multiple rounds for the share price to appreciate.

Malaysia Airports QR result announced. Looks like MAHB really profits when airlines are well managed and operate efficiently. Anyways this should be a good sign for AirAsia especially its Msian ops. EPF has been steadily buying MAHB shares these couple of weeks.

The question is who is right, the buying or selling funds? Surely EPF would know something and is a better indicator in this case.

From the volume, it looks like some funds are selling down while some funds are picking up. Based on the last few weeks Bursa disclosure, likely that EPF is still accumulating even these few days. While the funds who are selling are not substantial shareholder.

The trade war has pros and cons actually, since US-China trade war puts a limit on oil price increase.

Many of the world's airlines been releasing good results for H1 or Q2 2018. Could be a good sign for AA Q2 result.

The Q2 results will be covering the months Apr-Jun 2018. Unfortunately during Apr 2018 was when oil prices spiked quite sharply. Average result for this Q2 should be about -20% core profit without the sale of AAE and the leasing biz, and with div around 0.40 given thanks to both the disposal sales. A great result would be close to maintaining core profit figures. The next quarter of Jul-Sept should have a better result as oil price was mostly trending downwards during this period. This next quarter with results ~30 Nov should have another RM0.45 plus dividend. The only unexpected factors with AirAsia now are oil prices and the USD-MYR rate. If these don't move surprisingly bad, AirAsia already has money in the pocket. The nature of airlines business is volatile, but AA has to be the least volatile among most airline stocks. There is already a past record, how does AA perform with oil price $110, 100, 90, 80...They can control their costs relatively well.

The Q2 operating stats were already released since end-July.

The big players are pushing it up now. Push it harder, baby! This is a fundamentally sound stock.

Agree with have conviction with value investment. Don't bring speculator style of investment and high margin style into airlines stock... It just doesn't make sense because of short term sensitivity to things like oil price.

Funds are accumulating this stock. Not for contra players though, please only cash investors with holding power. If the small downturn in oil prices lasts until announcement date ~25 Aug, there should be nice conditions for this stock to rise. But the rise will be more like steady upwards march and not flying. :)

I consider myself a small ikan bilis value investor. As a non-trader I really do appreciate the sharing from everyone on this forum including superbull11, pingdan. How else are we amateurs going to get quick and tldr analysis to make wise investing decisions without just following our emotions and panic?
It was really scary lately, I ter-enter C34 during its intra-day low dip to 0.32, and just now managed to exit finally at its day peak of 0.40. Cannot be greedy, almost sweat buckets when C34 dipped to 0.20 and the news of Syria attacks la, Trump v China trade war la. Thanks for the valuable sharing, you guys. Now will sit back nicely and watch the GE14 unfold. Undilah!

Quite volatile these past few days. Scary even for me, was holding C33 at 0.195. There was too little buying support for mother share. Generally still find superbull11's advice quite sound but nobody can predict the market exactly.

HARTA's profit announcment....wew. Net profit 113million. Surely this means Supermax will have good upcoming profit numbers too. It's industry-wide good performance.

When volume is thin, the big players can manipulate easily. What was that big sell order for 1.76 few minutes from closing time?

Resistance at 2.06 is broken before 3pm. Market confidence in this stock should be improving for the short term.
