Your suspicion seems justified as Rubberex has been weak of late. But if we look at Comfort share price as well, the latter is not doing well either and the operator seems more interested to push up the warrant price than the mother share price.
Only Careplus fares slightly better.

This morning, we saw another classic sign of a "pump" by the operator! Mother share was up 3 sen, but the warrant was up 5 sen! Comfort share has been in a downtrend. What logic is it that the warrant can go up more?

Lessons:
1. "Bull markets are born on pessimism, grown on skepticism, mature on optimism and die on euphoria."(Quote from Sir John Templeton)
2. In investment, we must always do our homework. When market was red hot last year, we heard so many "euphoric" comments with very high TPs from forumers, IBs and even runners of the operators. Had we simply listened to them without doing our homework, we would have been taken for a free ride to Holland!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
hoplanner haha.....a year on. what a roller coaster ride, an euphoric ride indeed when the price went sky high. One could have made a lot but if you hold it, you would definitely say, "if i knew, I would have sold all"
So, are there lessons to be learnt? Care to share?

With yesterday's closing price of 83 sen, this is translated to a pre-bonus price of RM 2.49. This would mean that those who had bought below RM 2.49 before the bonus issue last year would still be sitting on paper gains.
Major shareholder Ong Choo Meng offered to acquire remaining Rubberex shares not owned at RM 1.80 per share last year. This would also mean that he had accumulated Rubberex shares at or below that MGO-triggered offer price and he is still sitting on paper gain. No wonder he is not in a hurry to buy up Rubberex shares now.

Yes, major shareholder Lau disposed of a big chunk of his freely alloted Comfort warrants(WB) at good prices! But the market operator was smarter to distribute them back to the punters/investors at even higher prices(highest, 74.5 sen).
Those who are still holding the warrants can only pray that the operator do another pump and dump.

An interesting article to read for the weekend!
Despite the glove sector’s explosive earnings amounting to multiple years consolidated in the past year alone, the share price has been falling. Interestingly, valuation contraction has been happening in spite of earnings expansion, with many analysts downgrading the target price irrespective of the results reported.

Currently, Rubberex is range-bound trading, between 82.5 sen to 86.5 sen, with key support at 80 sen.
One interesting observation: For the past 3 trading days(since the private placement listing), I saw some last-min buying support/covering at 4.50pm matching time and it just closed at the seller's price. Sometimes, it is interesting to analyse the behaviour/thinking of the operator.

New warrant was listed on 6/7 at 30.5 sen. Yesterday(23/7), it closed at 71 sen. This represents a whopping 133% increase. But if we look at the mother share. It just rose from RM 1.94(closing price) on 6/7 to RM 2.09(closing price) on 23/7, a mere increase of 7.7%.
What a clear mismatch! I can see big, fat frogs jumping on the street for people to catch. But beware, catch at your own risks.
Ahahah - Better stay away from this speculative warrant game. If you really see value in Comfort, you should invest in the mother share instead!

I do not know exactly what Ong Choo Meng's big plan is. Obviously, he is not in a hurry to buy up his Rubberex shares now.
Recently, Hextar Global has done a few acquisitions. One of which is to acquire the entire equity interest in Nobel Synthetic Polymer Sdn. Bhd. and Nobel Scientific Sdn. Bhd. (“Nobel Group”) which manufactures and supplies chemical derivatives, coating and related products.
The Nobel Group was set up to provide high performance custom-made anti-tack rubber
lubricant and coatings for the rubber industry. With their in-house research and development capabilities and years of experience in R&D initiatives in practical applications of polymers in the rubber industry, the Nobel Group produces proprietary formulations with a focus on rubber and/or rubber related products. Its customers include some of the world’s largest rubber glove manufacturers. The Nobel Group continues to endeavor in its R&D initiatives to develop breakthrough technologies for gloves and its manufacturing processes.
This could benefit Hextar Global more. But will it help to reduce the manufacturing cost for Rubberex? Perhaps, only time will tell.
Just for sharing purpose.

Luckyboy88 All sector of business are booming.
1) telecom - 5g rollout, with KUB as a bumi entity
2) energy - LPG which is 1 of main revenue contributor will rise in tandem with crude oil.
3) plantation - current CPO price is very encouraging and will stay as there is no big expention for major players. World population is on exponential growth.
4) property - not much catalyst but Kub had many land banks acquired 30++ years back without land price revalued. Once did NTA will boost up.
Bonus is up coming land sales in state of johor alone with net profit of 25 eps soon.
Conclusion : price will gradually Increase,.

Here we are, trying to predict the mkt demand and mkt supply for gloves 6 to 9 months down the road to derive at the prevailing mkt price of a glove counter.
Factors that could affect mkt demand for gloves:
1. Efficacy of vaccines vs virus mutations
2. World vaccination rates vs (uneven) distribution of vaccines worldwide
3. Level of increased hygiene awareness + living with the endemic
Factors that could affect mkt supply of gloves:
1. Number of existing suppliers worldwide
2. Number of new entrants worldwide
In the process, some variables could undergo changes and that can affect the whole analysis. This is especially so for the coronavirus' super-fast evolvements and mutations.

Just imagine, "If I were a mkt operator, would I be kind enough to tell you my trade secret?" In fact, I have been in this mkt long enough to know what is going on. Of course, my strong analytical power also aids my analysis.
Mkt is always forward-looking. During Covid-19 outbreak in early to mid 2020, mkt operators could predict a supercycle of strong profits for the glove companies. So, they added more fuel to the red hot market by ramping up glove counters' prices almost continuously and were making huge trading profits.
But since Covid-19 vaccines became available in late 2020 or early 2021, they started to do the exact opposite - to push down share prices almost continuously, despite even record high Covid-19 cases worldwide in recent weeks. To them, they view vaccination as a game changer.
2021-07-30 10:59 | Report Abuse
We must understand that mkt operators are not doing charity. Their main job is to churn profits for a living. Their operating strategy in simple terms - either they buy lower and sell higher or they sell higher and buy back lower.
Stock market is a zero-sum game. When market is no good, their operating profits can only come from some others' losses. As simple as that!

Over the last weekend, I posted that Careplus had outperformed Comfort and Rubberex in the last review period:
Closing prices as at 23/7/21:
Rubberex - RM 0.96 or 1.92(original pre-bonus issue price)
Comfort - RM 2.09
Careplus - RM 2.18
But things took a drastic change over the past 2 days:
Closing prices as at 27/7/21:
Rubberex - RM 0.88 or 1.76(original pre-bonus issue price)
Comfort - RM 1.89
Careplus - RM 1.83
Careplus was hit the hardest, followed by Comfort. Rubberex was hit the least as some investors/traders had already abandoned Rubberex in search of greener pastures. Less selling pressure.
Windfall tax is nothing new. It has been brought up before. But mkt operators just seize on this opportunity to whack down share prices.
