It was being manipulated low so that they could get a much lower private placement. If you monitor Hibi trading in the past 4 months not hard to figure how strong the support line is. The announcement came just in time, and it seems optimistic the PP is closer to current price.

I am strongly agreed that Hibi must not do the PP so often, as there are other finance options to raise funds. Probably they want to have a "debt free" status in order to attract more investors.

@GM68 have peace of mind in your vacation, it's proven now is the bottom price for Hibi, the company need to make the North Sabah announcement as soon as possible. Should it be at the same time of new QR in August?

probably we should question the board why they issue PP regularly, like @cksam said this approach dilutes its instinct value. A healthy level of debts may not risk the company, but PP definitely affects the existing shareholders. Hibi is must answer to the shareholder!

insiders probably smell burning toast in next QR, the performance might not be very good even thought fuel price slightly lower. Everyone is trying to pinch pennies and tighten belts in today's economy.

KLCI has going side way, most of the portfolios turned into -ve recently (not only you @kun1971kun). A lot of negative sentiments that affect Hibi at lower trend, hopefully the board can inject another booster (confirmed private placement to acquire Sabah shell) by next QR. No doubt crude oil is weak, but it offers you to buy at cheap price.

@Lonewolfie, frankly fundamental wise, i feel Hibi did a lot of window dressing for the past few QR (esp on the acquisition), but the recent latest QR looks sound to me. Hibi need catalyst in the next few months to stimulate the price, otherwise we might need to wait for 2019. :-)
