We refer to Dolphin’s announcements dated 31 January 2020, 14 May 2020 and 5 June 2020 in relation to the Disposal. Unless otherwise stated, all defined terms and abbreviations used in this announcement shall carry the same meaning as those previously defined in Dolphin’s circular to shareholders dated 14 May 2020 in relation to the Disposal.

On behalf of the Board, Mercury Securities wishes to announce that Dolphin and AP Green Energy had on 26 June 2020 entered into a supplemental letter to the Disposal SSA (“Supplement Letter”) to amend and vary the Disposal SSA and to waive the condition precedent pertaining to the obligation of Dolphin to obtain a written waiver and consent of SULPOM not to exercise its rights to acquire the Sale Shares and its tag-along rights (“Disposal SSA Amendments”).

Further to the above, the Board also wishes to announce that all the conditions precedent to the Disposal SSA has been fulfilled and/or waived and accordingly, the Disposal SSA has become unconditional on the date of this announcement.

Mlabs Systems has partnered with Malaysian film production company Longhouse Films to revive the flailing film production industry in Malaysia. Through a shared subscription agreement, both parties aim to enhance the Malaysia movie industry by bringing back Malaysian talents from the international entertainment industry. In a statement to A+M, a spokesperson from Mlabs said it also looks to bring in bigger movie production from China and Korea to Malaysia, as well as bring China and Asian contents for distribution in Southeast Asia.

The spokesperson added that within the next two years, Mlabs will progressively invest up to RM3 million into Longhouse. Steve Tan, the executive director of Mlabs said the company views its investment in Longhouse as opportune as Longhouse is targeting the international audience in its new movies. Mlabs anticipates that the return on investment will be positive as the cost of production in Malaysia is significantly lower in comparison to filming overseas such as China, and the “severe depletion” in online content induced by lockdowns in the US and other European nations as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In this case, Longhouse will be well positioned to bridge the demand and supply gap in partnering with major online movie portals such as YOUKU, iQIYI and Netflix. Mlabs would also have been more hesitant to invest were it not for the movie contracts already awarded to Longhouse by international studios and will be in Longhouse’s pipeline for the next two years such as Magic Moments, Hutan, God of War, Monkey King, Sky & Blue Sea, and Letters from the Future,” he added.

Meanwhile, Jon Chiew, CEO and founder of Longhouse said, he aims to build the "Made in Malaysia and Made by Malaysians" brand in the world stage. He is also looking to create a sustainable ecosystem in the Malaysian creative business whereby local talents are empowered and retained, and the culture and tourism sector in Malaysia will be seen by the world.

Jon Chiew is a Malaysian film producer with more than 20 years of experience in the content business in China. During his tenure with production company Huace Pictures, he participated in and produced more than 20 films and partnered with major international studios including 20th Century FOX, Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures, Emperor, Media Asia of Hong Kong, CJ Entertainment and NEW of Korea.

“Despite all my years filming in China, I have always harboured the intention of returning to Malaysia and tap into the local pool of underappreciated talents. Malaysia has many robust and talented people who are able to fluently command several languages but also retain their own ethnic culture in a very profound way,” he added.

With the enforcement of Movement Control Order (MCO), film production jobs have been halted. Recently, the Malaysian Association of Advertising Filmmakers (PPFIM) appealed to the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia to allow the industry to resume shooting commercial films during this COVID-19 crisis. The Malaysian government then approved for the filming industry to resume operations after Hari Raya, according to Malay Mail. Citing communications and multimedia minister, Saifuddin Abdullah, it is reported that the approval was given during the National Security Council meeting on 19 May. Malay Mail also reported that production houses are allowed conduct their shoots with a strict standard operating procedure (SOP), while the approval for live programmes to resume is still under discussion.

Buy share buy future,.....XOX is too poor to fight the giant like Maxis, Celcom & Digi. If XOX wants to take up more market, they have to evolve and progress. For example involving in 5G platform, and more attractive package offering.

Certainly they need money to do all that.

One of hand-phone retailer/shop told me, the popularity/sale for XOX was in increasing state since end of last year. New subscriber able to enjoy as long as 28 months active period once subscribed.

Objectively, XOX is still sound,......They are working hard to penetrate the local market shares. Perhaps, they will make the day in near soon.

China eyeing Malaysian companies to expand 5G tech

KUALA LUMPUR: A giant telecommunications group from China is betting on Malaysia to expand its fifth generation (5G) technology and is eyeing several companies here to help build the network.

Sources said the Chinese group was investing billions of ringgit on 5G technology this year, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

"They are seeking partners with 5G capabilities and have targeted a few companies here. They hope to start talks post-movement control order," said a source.

It is understood that the group was looking at Green Packet Bhd and XOX Bhd, which are 5G-ready.

Green Packet's shares rose to a new multiple-year high yesterday, gaining as much as 23 sen or 19.01 per cent to RM1.41- a level last seen in 2010.

XOX, which has about RM35 million cash on hand, currently offers the most competitive and innovative 4G data plan, and is focusing to build 5G infrastructure in the region.

The company's shares surged 11.11 per cent amid active trading on Friday to close at five sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM54.62 million.

The counter increased one sen with 154 million shares traded.

Early this year, XOX partnered with Advance Tech Communication Sdn Bhd (ATC) to launch 4G and 5G smartphones, with additional satellite communication capabilities termed XPLORE.

XOX will be the first telco to market and distribute the products to its users across Southeast Asia.

Its executive director Steve Tan has said that the company aimed to provide a unified network plan by integrating XOX's prepaid plans and messaging platform with ATC's extensive satellite emergency services.

"XOX is a good target for investors. XOX is ranked fifth in the telecom sector and is the number one MVNO company in Malaysia with current customer base reaching almost three million, including prepaid and post paid mobile phone users.

"The stock is relatively very cheap. It is currently the cheapest telecom stock on the local bourse and has potential upside," the source said.

Last month, XOX inked an agreement with DGB Asia Bhd to collaborate in the deployment of up to 1,000 next generation AI vending machines.

This move is in line with XOX's strategy to focus on different silos of its business to build up its revenue streams.

An analyst who spoke on condition of anonymity said telecom stocks were expected to rally as the sector was making handsome profits amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Valuations of telecom stocks are becoming attractive again and the sector is expected to grow at an accelerated rate with the current shifts happening in digital landscapes such as 5G, the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.

"If you look at Maxis, Celcom and DiGi, the stocks are all up. We can expect a new high in telecom stocks this year," he said.

But, "Independent investor" if great thing to deal with,....meaning MLAB is a good company to stay with in this kind of negative state of worldwide economy.

If 30% from public then,........the entire story will be telling on the other way round.

Conclusion: To me is a good news. Lagi bagus if the "independent investor" is Cisco thru nominee.
