Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical adviser to President Biden, says an additional COVID-19 vaccine dose is needed for people who have compromised immune systems.

Speaking to NPR's Morning Edition on Thursday, Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said that for those with compromised immune systems, the need is "so imminent to make sure that we get them boosted so that they would be in a protected zone."

PUTRAJAYA: Pharmaceutical companies will be allowed to sell vaccines on the private market starting in August, says National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
“The Special Committee on Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) will meet next week to decide on the guidelines for the private sale of vaccines, including the ceiling price,” he said at his weekly joint media briefing with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba yesterday.
Khairy added that the cap on prices is to ensure that the vaccines would not be sold at too high a price.

Bukit Aman Commercial CID director, Datuk Mohd Kamaruddin Md Din said those aged 51 and above were prime targets as they are financially stable with savings for old age as well as retirement fund.
