depends on the motive of investor.
a) he decides to save his money at the bank but at the same time he need to use the money anytime because of emergency. However, getting bank interest is quite low. If he put at FD he cant use the money anytime. Therefore, to beat the game he decide to put the at a stock which delcared high dividend.
