If refineries try process less to increase price of refined oil/widen crack spread, producers will just increase oil price (reduce supply) to maximise profit

Producers have ultimate pricing power..refiners always lose

Refinery best biz strategy is to maximise production/output even with thin crack spread

Correct lo oil went neg (-) @ basically producers paid customers to take oil b’coz producers didnt want handle storage costs etc

Main point very simple

Oil producers have pricing power..refiners dont make money

Thats why cannot compare Hibiscs & HY lo..2 diff biz model

To maximise profit, producers will set crude oil price just below refined oil price (thin crack spread)

Refiners happy got biz (even tho thin margin/spread)..producers big winners lo

Even now crack spread alrdy drop from peak usd33 to usd16 (50% drop in 2weeks)

Refiners dont make money..oil producers always big winners

Thats why cannot compare Hibiscs & HY..2 different biz model

Wide crack spread basically incentive 4 oil producers to increase oil price & squeeze refiner margins (oil producers hold pricing power)
