SULTAN IBRAHIM: JOHOR BAKAL MENJADI PENGELUAR UTAMA TENAGA SOLAR DI ASIA TENGGARA

DYMM Sultan Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, mengumumkan Johor akan menjadi pengeluar utama tenaga mesra alam, dengan pembukaan taman tenaga solar di Pengerang.

"Taman Solar Sultan Ibrahim", projek bernilai RM1.4 billion itu akan menjadi yang terbesar seumpamanya di Asia Tenggara dengan berkapasiti 450MW (megawatt).

Ia adalah projek pelaburan swasta berskala besar pertama diperolehi oleh Negeri Johor bagi tahun 2021 atas usaha Baginda Tuanku Sultan yang sentiasa mengalakkan pelaburan dan pembangunan ekonomi untuk rakyat dan negeri Johor.

Projek berkenaan juga seiring dengan Pelan Pembangunan Mapan Johor 2030 yang mengutamakan kelestarian alam sekitar dalam pembangunan ekonomi dan kemakmuran hidup rakyat.

DYMM Sultan Johor bertitah, projek berkenaan akan turut memberi impak kepada pembangunan ekonomi Negeri, dengan penawaran kerja kepada pelbagai peringkat, kerana ia juga akan menjadi sistem penyimpanan tenaga solar terbesar di rantau ini apabila beroperasi sepenuhnya menjelang 2023.

"Projek ini bukan sahaja berupa meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi, malah berupaya menjadikan Johor antara pengeluar penting tenaga boleh diperbaharui secara mesra alam di peringkat antarabangsa," titah Baginda Tuanku Sultan kepada Royal Press Office (RPO).

DYMM Sultan Johor berkenan untuk menyempurnakan majlis pecah tanah Taman Solar Sultan Ibrahim pada 23 Mac ini, di tapak projek di Pengerang.

DYMM Sultan Johor bertitah, keupayaan pengoperasian projek berkenaan, secara tidak langsung akan menjadikan Johor sebagai pengeluar utama tenaga solar berskala besar di samping menitikberatkan kelestarian serta persekitaraan hijau yang lebih bersih.

"Kita bersyukur kerana Johor antara negeri diberkati dengan waktu pancaran matahari yang tinggi. Sudah sampai masanya, kita meneroka sumber ini untuk meningkatkan kapasiti penjanaan kuasa serta menyumbang kepada penghasilan tenaga boleh diperbaharui," titah Baginda Tuanku Sultan.

SULTAN IBRAHIM ANNOUNCES JOHOR’S FORAY INTO SOLAR ENERGY GENERATION WITH OPENING OF NEW POWER PLANT IN PENGERANG

HM Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar announced today (28 Feb) that Johor will soon become a major producer of environmentally friendly energy with the opening of a solar power plant at Pengerang.

To be called the ‘Sultan Ibrahim Solar Park’, the RM1.4 billion project will be the biggest of its kind in Southeast Asia with a combined installed capacity of 450MW (megawatts).

It will also be the region’s largest solar energy storage system when fully commissioned by 2023.

It is the state’s first major private investment project for 2021, and the result of His Majesty’s continued efforts to woo investors and spur Johor’s economic growth for the benefit of the people.

His Majesty will officiate at the official ground-breaking ceremony on March 23 at the project site in Pengerang.

The project is also in line with the 2030 Johor Sustainable Development Plan which places major emphasis on environmental preservation and protection as part of the state’s economic development plan for a more prosperous society.

Tuanku Sultan Ibrahim said that the project will have a healthy economic spill over effect for the people in the form of job creation at various levels.

“With this exciting project, Johor will make a quantum leap into the world of renewable and sustainable clean energy,” said His Majesty to the Royal Press Office (RPO).

Tuanku Sultan Ibrahim added that the project will mark Johor’s first major foray into large-scale sustainable energy to foster green economies and a cleaner environment.

“Johor is one of the states blessed with high sun hours. It is time that we tapped into this resource to boost our power generating capacity and contribute to the production of renewable energy,” stressed His Majesty.
