ViVaFoReVeRLOVE NancyDrewWhite , i just want to point out that mmc gamuda engineers do not do paperwork. They REVIEW paperwork submitted by WPC (works package contractor).

For some package the engineer is very slack while for some package the engineer is quite rigid, so it differs, some things that cannot pass for my package will pass for other package and vice versa.

Anyway it's up to the ICE (independent consulting engineer) and the MRTC observer to comment bcos even the MGJV ppl want to push the paperwork through.

And all these thing in the end come up to taichi here and there, make sure that we hit all the QRM target and looks good during the meeting is good enuf.

With over 185 countries in the world now have Covid-19, this pandemic has truly flexed its muscle not seen since the 1918 Spanish Flu.

Looking at how Covid-19 playing out in so many countries with different political systems, beliefs and culture, there are only two possible outcomes.

1) A severe economic recession with manageable casualties which does not overwhelm the health system. Borders will have to be closed and lifestyle will have to change for a long long time.

2) A severe economic recession with mass casualties which kill the health system along the way. This will cause long lasting economic depression as you have to battle Covid-19 every day.

Short term pain for long term sustainable economic gain or suffer a slow but agonising long term death. If I were a leader, I know what I am going to choose - it is the lesser of the two evils ...

I cant help being filled with a sense of hopelessness after reading about DG of Health briefing on the type of testing being carried out.

In New Zealand, Taiwan, Korea and Hong kong where Covid-19 is largely contained, mass testings were being carried out.
Malaysia is only carrying out "targeted" testing, meaning that only limited testing is carried out. Hence we have a situation where a lot of infected people escape detection. That also explains the the relatively low number of people infected as announced by the DG on a daily basis.

Even more worrying, if we continue with this targeted testing, a larger and larger number of infected people who have not been tested will potentially continue to spread the disease.

If strict enforcement of MCO is adhered too it may help to contain the spreading to some extent. However, to prematurely relax the MCO by allowing non essential services to operate may bring about many more people being infected. . This will make a bad situation even worse as many of these people who are prematurely allowed to go back to work may infect others.

I realize that everyone, including the government, is suffering financially. But lives are more important than money. Be a responsible government to ensure that all citizens are safe from this horrible virus. The government should think of all possible ways ((except short cutting the MCO), including massive borrowings, to alleviate the financial problems of the people who may have to endure a longer period of strictly enforced MCO.

I therefore beg the government not to do it the lazy and easy way by relaxing the MCO prematurely. By doing so many lives are at stake. Please also carry out mass testing without delay.

You have missed the point. A situation which leads us into abject poverty will have its own heath implications. Even if 10% of our poor fall into extreme poverty due to the lack of work this will have its own implications on their health and survival. The key word here is balance. We are not a rich developed country that can guarantee every jobless individual 70 to 80% of their salary for the next 3 to 6 months. So please . . . . . have a heart for our poor.

This covid virus is deadly and are not the prerogative of just 12 so called ‘experts’ to make a decision.This is not like politics where you can play ‘clever’ in front of the rakyat.Only KKM will have the final say after consultation with the MKN.Please dont try to be clever.This is a national issue and not a hospital issue.
