Just to share. This is my personal assessment of Iris. I am too much of a novice to know what this is all about. You can say, a bit itchy here and there to try entering stock market.

In any restructuring exercise, it is mainly centered on reducing overheads, cutting off non core business to focus on what it does best and bring the best people on board to execute it. Iris did just that. It chopped off the loss making Stamford College, property development in Putrajaya and quit the renewable energy JV with Chinese firm in China. That’s why it lost money in the past.

These are the main reasons why it was able to report profits in 2019 after restructuring and recoup whatever there is. However, the results from yesterday’s AGM is the actual operating profits which is a true reflection of what the company can do. Note that Iris lost its main stay of Malaysian Immigration contracts to Datasonic and how they got the contract which is another story.
As for the shareholders, Felda need desperately to improve its bottom line. FIC in particular has not been impressive with many of its ventures so far. I know the Felda man is a very hard man to try selling him anything. Poh family with its relationship in corporate world together with Rozabil are important influencing factors too.

Therefore to me, personally share price is important, but not that important as to the future of the company. More important is we read enough and try our best to understand. But my own limited level may not be enough. So like little sheep, I am prepared to not selling my teeny bit of investment and stay put to see what it will become of it, subjected to the level of greed feeling I get when I wake up in morning.

My strategy is to hold with whatever entry price with readiness to lose 20% of what I had invested. I believe buying shares is an investment, you make some and you also will lose some. Of course I am not a big time player, just buy little bit to learn the process. So I am here to gain more knowledge from sifus like aarontan and the rest. Hopefully get to eat shrimps, tiger prawns or if I am really lucky, lobster.

I long long way to observe and learn from all these sifus.

I early early chopped Gloves Adventa this morning at 4.50, now it is 3.70. Today gloves and whole market is very messy.

I no worry one. I can figure who is out and who is left standing. What is the worst case scenario? Lose 20% lor and cut loss. With low cost entry, the risks are worth taking. Unless you say hold something like TG stock, then different story.
