I have often wondered what I would do if I had to quarantine at home for 14 days, everyday hoping I do not have the virus and how I would stop myself spreading it to my family.
lock myself in a room with an attached bathroom? Yes .. that would be possible if my house was big enough. Unfortunately not many of our houses are big enough and made worst if there are many people staying in that house.
Perhaps, it would be better to check into a hotel with an attached bath room and call for food delivery. That would be a possibility if I can afford it and the hotel understands the risks of having me there.
Unfortunately not many of us can afford it. We may need to be qurantined because of PUI tracing and because we are rich enough to return from overseas.
Added to that is the ignorance of how infectious this virus can spread or how deadly it could be to the aged in the house.
What I am trying to get at is that unless the government has prepared quarantine centers we will not be able to contain the spread of this virus. Furthermore, people in quarantine still do not understand that they need to stay there and not wander into town for teh tarik. Barbed wire fencing and an armed sentry with the instruction to shoot if necessary might be necessary to drive home the seriousness of quarantine. Another possibility for those who escape quarantine would be solitary confinement in a prison for another 14 days.
I have still not gone home to visit my parents till now. Although I am classified as low risk it does not mean by some carelessness on my part, I am infected and being asymptomatic. infect my beloved parents.

Let's all malaysians, despite no mention of license for individuals, let's all join forces and submit our request for a valid permit to film anything locally.
Let do it at one go and see their response.

You must wear a helmet while you ride a motorcycle. The law is clear on this one. There is no ambiguity. But the enforcement officers turn a blind eye all the time. Then they get picky when things don't go their way?

Because your grounding of the language was a big ZERO.
THE SCIENCE AND MATHS NOW AS TAUGHT BY BELOW PAR TEACHERS WILL NOT BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR ANY LOW GRADE INSTITUTION IN THE WORLD.
Students have to get tutoring from GOOD maths & science teachers in English outside school hours.
The education system is an abject failure. Everyone knows it but no Parliamentarian has the GUTS to be its saviour
Just check where we stand when compared to other countries. A great disservice has been done to future generations in the name of the three Rs.
And you have the gall to talk about ‘failure’ you mutton head.

Too late now. No hope of bringing back English to our schools. Our present teachers themselves could not converse or write proper English, and how on earth can they teach the subjects in English? The old timers who could are all retired and are mostly in their seventies. Even if offered to teach the subjects as contract teachers, I doubt they want to come back.

It is not that it cannot be done. Those who are given the jobs to do it are not serious and are more interested in politics. They are not the best, but mere mediocre. If China, whose population hardly speak English long ago, when our standard of English was excellent, could now produce students speaking and writing good English. Put the right people, regardless of race, in charge we can do it.

A traitor! A fake reformist! A real corrupt racist ! This is what Art Harun is!

I am neither surprised nor disappointed when the fruit falls from the same tree.
The Harun family seems teeming with members talented enough to sing the same song to different beats depending on the audience and venue.
Both the attorney-general and speaker brothers’ first public performance has only led to the public shaking their heads in disdain with their lips curled in a sneer.
Idrus Harun disavowed any direct ownership of the first stand he took as AG when a renowned film producer and famous step-son had the bulk of his fabulous riches returned to him, with the previous AG being held responsible for the generosity Riza Aziz enjoyed.
Not to be outdone, brother Azhar has forgotten his sermons on righteousness and good upbringing when, as the speaker, he allowed Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim to get away with obnoxious statements, not once but twice in a spate of a few seconds.
The bigger joke is that Abdul Azeez referred to MP Kasthuriraani Patto’s dark complexion.
Of course, she is dark and I am sure like most of us Indians, proud of it. I take it that our parliamentarian from Baling has not been looking at the mirror lately. Had he done so, he would have realised that he is hardly a model for Fair and Lovely.
Coming back to the Haruns, this surely must be the first pair of brothers where both are Cain.

US companies are driven by the bottom line, greed, and have made obscene profits from China manufactured goods and their China-based businesses. They will sell their mothers to make a buck and therefore submit to anything. Why do you think the share prices of Apple, GM, Amazon, Walmart, McDonalds, etc. appreciated? Don't complain, I am sure your 401K has benefited from it. This is what we call hypocrisy.
You must be joking about making iphones in the US. They have enough problems making the Mac Pro in Austin.

The presence of the Haiyang Dizhi 8 in the South China Sea comes amid movement curbs imposed by Southeast Asian countries to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
The U.S. State Department had urged Beijing to focus on combating the pandemic and “stop exploiting the distraction or vulnerability of other states to expand its unlawful claims in the South China Sea.”
China’s U-shaped “nine-dash line” on its maps marks a vast expanse of the waters that it claims, including large expanses in the south that are also claimed by Malaysia, Vietnam and Brunei.

The Haiyang Dizhi 8 had been flanked by as many as seven Chinese coastguard vessels that have since moved away, two sources familiar with the matter said. The Malaysian navy was monitoring the situation, one of the sources said.
The foreign ministries of Malaysia, Brunei and China did not respond to requests for comment.
On Wednesday, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman had said the ship was conducting normal activities and accused U.S. officials of using the South China Sea issue to smear Beijing.

The ship appeared to have started a survey in waters 352 kilometres (218 miles) off the coasts of Brunei and Malaysia on Thursday, according to data from Marine Traffic, a website that tracks shipping.
That appeared to be just north of Malaysia’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ), near waters claimed by both Vietnam and Malaysia.
A Malaysian coastguard vessel, the KM Pekan, is shadowing the Chinese ship, a Malaysian maritime source said, declining to be identified because of the sensitivity of the matter.

Chinese ship seen moving south near Malaysia amid rising South China Sea tensions
KUALA LUMPUR/HANOI (Reuters) - A Chinese government survey ship embroiled in a standoff with Vietnamese vessels moved south near Malaysia, shipping data showed Thursday, amid accusations that China is using the pandemic to assert its presence in the South China Sea.
The Haiyang Dizhi 8 was spotted off Vietnam this week, returning after being closely tracked last year in the resource-rich waters, a potential global flashpoint as the United States challenges China’s sweeping maritime claims.

Urban poverty is indeed common . But it affects all communities, not just the Malays. If only MP's visit a Chinese New Village or an Indian squatter area , you will find similar stories. Keep it Malaysian , and as Malaysians , let us do this together.

One thing you did not emphasise, why do they continue to vote the same people who have made life so difficult for them?
Why do they not question, bug, pester the powers that can help them out of this quandary?
Malaysia is a very blessed country. Despite all the socio-political setbacks, we are managing. Despite the pandemic, we managed to have control over the situation. All this shows that we have capable people within to get over many issues. If only this country was managed by competent people, we would not be in this socio-economic divide.
The reasons are so obvious and everyone knows why, but the powers be were and are not interested in improving these very peoples lives.
It is sick and tiring of listening to all the rich and famous appearing in luxurious attire in court every day. The political drama, the highly paid GLC appointments, the tendering scandals and many more that fill the news.
Being an MP and a member of a parliamentary select committee all you could do is voice it out in a media portal. I am actually wondering what do you achieve by this? What are you planning to do about it? This itself says a lot about our elected people. All we as readers can say is we are sorry for the people and share our feelings. That's all!
