Negative goodwill is one of the one off accounting treatment (non cash) to be recorded in the statement as a result of bargain purchase of the asset by the management during bad oil market. For better comparison, we should take out this to compare to better show the operational efficiency.

However, last time many claimed that the result wasn’t good due to this negative goodwill, just would like to restate again this, negative goodwill is a very positive thing showing the management capability to purchase quality asset like north Sabah asset at a very bargained price.

Lastly, what we should be more exciting is not about current quarter but coming quarters in the future, this is due to higher oil price, stronger USD and the most important one, higher production in line with their goals.

This stock very obvious there has been a huge accumulation almost 2 years with significant shakeout in between, if you buy and hold, you’re still in gain (uptrending still), when the accumulation is done, this stock will not maintain at this price range, it will be adjusted to a reasonable PE.
