Shares in south-east-Asia-focused Salamander Energy rise 10 percent after a report in the Spanish media that unlisted oil firm Cepsa is finalising a 700 million euros ($953.08 million) bid for London-listed Salamander.
Salamander and Cepsa declined to comment on the report.

Salamander, which produces oil and gas in Thailand and Indonesia, launched a formal sale process on May 1.

The report is the main driver of the share jump, says FirstEnergy Capital analyst Stephane Foucaud.

Shares in the company are up 9.8 percent at 151.25 pence 0830 GMT in heavy volumes, making the stock one of the top ganiners on the London Stock Exchange on Friday.

Based on the announcement on May 1 , SMDR mentioned that there are a few companies bid for it right?

Hi TLTAN. The chart of SMDR really show something big happening. But why u so confident Sona will get it as there are others bid for the assets as we'll right?

Refer to the prospectus of Sona, the moratorium on share for management is up to one full year of audited revenue. So after 1 year, the management still cannot sell even QA is completed.

Hi Fauzan ...This is standard for all AGM, does not mean Sona want to raise fund immediately. You can check last year Cliq AGM, they have the same resolution. Thanks

The sequence for the QA (based on Hibiscus Petroleum experience)
1. Announce the QA
2. Then submit to SC for approval
3. After approval from SC, only fix an EGM to get shareholder approval
4. The process will completed after shareholder approval in the EGM

Therefore for now, Sona will not call for EGM.....

Decision is always yours......
It's not easy to get the arbitrage profit.....
The conversion of warrant take two weeks....

Stock

2013-12-27 16:08 | Report Abuse

Simple....There is lots of force sell for retailers who purchase on last Friday.....And now the warrant is non marginable soon.....the demand will be less....and some players might just sell some warrant to get the fund for conversion

If you check on Hibiscus management share carefully, they can only sell to their own management teams at a discount 20% to the market price.....
And the management team do not hv any warrant A.....they r having warrant B

Stock

This is because there is more retailers (short term players) in warrant compare with mother share which is mostly hold by the top shareholders......
