LTH could have disposed of all their shares if they are desparate for cash but they stayed on and they resume buying (referring to recent announcement). Looks like they are supporting QA to me and I hope this is good sign :)

If CS alone votes NO and everybody else support, not a problem for QA to pass.

Ruslimz, I beg to differ, while we do not know the stand of each major shareholder, I have a feeling that LTH will support QA, same for many other significant shareholders coz looking at first Annual Report and the latest one for 2015, LTH has remained as an investor all these while.

Sejuk Sam, at least CS or PAG not buying actively today. Dunno who bought/sold but total volume very small, only 74,700 shares exchanged hands unlike the past weeks averaging over 1mln shares per day!

Wow, thanks for sharing, Blackgoldexplorer. I am beginning to pay more attention to the proposal you pointed out. In fact, I printed it out this morning to read carefully. Missed it last time coz didnt quite understand! This is huge, 805 sq km. Like the size of Perlis for exploration area! Am I correct to say the purchase price is only based on 2P reserves, and this means buy 2P for 3 per barrel and get 805 sq km worth of exploration (containing 223 mln barrels)? For this huge size, think maybe got more prospect to explore than what they declare (223). If got discovery, wow, 1P, 2P will increase right? This is like sitting on gold mine, lol!

I now look at Reach as oil and gas stock for long term, not for short term speculation or punters. Lots of gain for those who can wait for 2 to 3 years or more.

Good news, everyone! Brent successful liftoff to the stratosphere, cruising at USD 50.69 per barrel now! Finally we have breakout above 50! QA comingggggg!

Personally, I think this is an attractive proposal. It has a lot of upsides from 3P (learning from Brutus and BlackGold Explorer, please keep us enlightened on technical aspects of the QA), with purchase consideration of USD 3 per barrel of 2P reserves, looks like Reach got the best deal compared to Sapura Kencana at USD 25 per barrel 2P or even Cliq for USD 5.8 per barrel 2P reserves.

Am afraid they cant win the 3rd time as my hunch is it wont be that easy to get the money back so quickly. Even all of us can see and read the intentions of CS/PAG in derailing QA. They got a walkover from Cliq (thanks to SC returning their application for QA, and then ran out of time) Sona was just unfortunate to be victimised by CS/PAG plus others. I have this gut feel that Reach is well aware of the games CS/PAG is playing and may be getting ready to put up a good fight with legal recourse if they smell foul play. And this will erode whatever yield CS is dreaming of if the case gets dragged on and on. And as a small investor, I really hope everything goes well for all of us, hopefully we can sail through this QA with enough YES vote.

On hindsight, I pun concur with The Contratian in Cliq forum where money in trust fund can be locked up indefinitely, ehtahlah sampai bila if keep suing, keep appealing, nobody gets money back so easily and quick. Not worth the yield to wait until I grow a one foot long beard. I hope we dun have to go through similar thing here.

If the yield seekers vote NO to the QA, they will have to wait well into 2018 or beyond. I personally think it is very possible the Management of Reach may seek legal recourse on those key arbitrage parties like CS/PAG who may deliberately hijack a well intentioned QA. This could further delay the liquidation process and so on. Am sure Reach is learning from Cliq and Sona after seeing them go down tragically.

Barangkali itu CS may surprise market by voting YES??? Still early to tell now. Let us stay hopeful this QA goes through :)

Comparing same time frame between two options,
If vote NO, one will surely get back maybe around 74 sen nett but if vote YES for QA can see big profit when price goes up. Worth taking the risk since i already decide to take risk to invest in stock market, why not just go all the way and hopefully earn a lot more than "play safe" to get just 5 or 6 %?

If vote NO, will maybe get 74 sen (after deducting costs) in March 2018, long long way to go. This is about 5 to 6 sen upside to make from today's price, yield of 7 to 9pct over a period of 1.5 years, maybe annualised to about 5 to 6%, only slightly more than FD! Not attractive to lock my money for so long just to get so small return, I might as well put money in FD! Or exit and buy another counter.
But if i stick in as stock market investor and say YES, with oil price continuing to improve, share price surely go above RM1 or maybe even to RM2 by March 2018.

hmm...you know I am no expert in oil and gas terms but i have been thinking through the QA deal for some time dah.... here is my take: earliest possible time shareholders get paid if QA fails is at least 6 to 9 months after August 2017, so looking at maybe up to March to May of 2018 or even longer if got complications.

now everyone can own a portion of oilfield!

pasti bukan saya selling at 69 loh! in fact, baru top up sikit at 69 satu minggu lalu.

i setuju 1000% with hankc! Even newspapers pun all the time biased in their writing, creating so much hype about yield seekers and scare off small fry investors like some of us. We are given a choice to evaluate and decide as we are shareholders. After all, now mother 69sen, difference between 69 and redemption value 74+ sen is not so big like dulu, not so attractive to yield seekers to buy now and kena tunggu until 2017 to realise the gain. Also, who knows Reach may take legal action against saboteurs if got overwhelming evidence of foul play? If they start to sue, wah, may take long time to settle court case, tak tau sampai bila. So the 6 to7 pct yield (@69 sen now) is not worth the time to wait until final payment. If I am yield seeker, i will think 100 times first. Lagipun, itu harga minyak sudah naik banyak almost usd 50 se tong. Oil price keep climbing back from 27 in Jan/Feb. Outlook looking more positive. I want to give Reach a chance. I konfiden Reach can give me more profit from my investment in future.

Wah better be careful, takut takut we kena sued for deliberately bersepakat hentam Reach by voting No to QA! I dengar dari orang dalaman itu sona mau sue those who purposely sabotaj by voting NO to their QA since they got the names at EGM.
