Break 1.80 on Monday, or not break 1.80 on Monday, is not that critical. The important thing is, that Dayang just keeps progressing.

As long as that happens, getting to 2, 2.50, 3, 3.50, 4, ... will then be just a matter of time.

Okay, let me qualify my previous post.

Petronas = new O&G global supermajor #5 based on latest FY18 full year net profit only, not in terms of other criteria like asset worth, range of activity/engagement etc. and all other stuff.

So, expect even more big Petronas jobs to come Dayang's way this year & next year. Not least becos Petronas is a shareholder. Granted, only a minority shareholder, currently. But still a shareholder nevertheless.

Petronas beats Total SA on FY18 full year net profit!!!

Petronas just announced today, net profit for full FY18 = RM55.3 bil

Now, I wrote several posts this morning, about the profits of five global 'O&G supermajors', i. e. Chevron, ExxonMobil, BP, Royal Dutch Shell & Total. Read it on page 185, posts from 5:17 - 8:16 a.m. Their total combined net profit for full year FY18 = US$80 bil. Meaning, average = US$16 bil.

But the lowest among among them is Total with US$13.6 bil, i.e. about RM54 bil (could be even less if we use latest prevailing currency exchange rate). Now, this morning my estimate profit for Petronas was RM52.4 bil, when official statement not out yet. So, I ranked Petronas at number six, in terms of full year FY18 net profit.

But now that official Petronas statement is out, declaring Petronas profit = RM55.3 bil ... ... ... jeng jeng jeng ... ... ... suspense & high drama ...

Petronas is ... new O&G Global Supermajor Number 5!!!

So also, with Petronas expected to earn RM50+ bil of net profits for full year 2018, Dayang should get a few more big jobs from Petronas, becos Petronas is a shareholder. A minority shareholder, but still a shareholder nevertheless.

Well, at least based on 2018 full year net profit, Petronas with RM52.4 bil (compared to Total with US$13.6 bil or RM54 bil) should be #6.

Now, the current top five global 'supermajors' of O&G are Chevron, ExxonMobil, BP, Royal Dutch Shell & Total. And their combined 2018 net profit is US$80 bil. Therefore average for each = US$16 bil. Therefore, France's Total net profit at US$13.6 bil is likely the lowest of the five.

I don't care if even the US Fed Reserve exited. You do not make such a simplistic & superficial assessment when making an important investment decision. I can form my own good investing judgement. I do need any 'instigation' by anybody. I am in because I see something good. And I am no naive newbie, for sure.

Point is, you something promising, you study their recent profit record first. If looks good, and you want to get in, you get in early. Ain't good to hesitate and then eventually amble in when its already nearing peak, wherever that is. The market does not wait for hesitators.
