@chrlswai:i am not doing any plantation company analysis...
but i can give you some analysis on palm oil prices...
currently cpo is quite bearish as it is suffering from good production of other oil crops...and palm oil is now entering into high production cycle which usually peaks around sep or oct...and also...the el nino factor did not really come out that bad as forecasted earlier this year...hence...the upside potential is quite limited currently...

an adequate amount of sports is good...sometimes it helps to clear your mind, release stress...to execute a deal better...
i am in dif industry as Chris Dalton...he is in oil & gas sector, i am in plantation sector...the only thing in common is we are both dealing with oils...

oil & gas is a sector with huge profit margin (if properly managed) compared to 6-8% profit margin of normal contruction sector...
that's why now companies from all sorts of industry also want to campur tangan....sumatec is managed by people with relevant experience (Chris Dalton) and proven oil reserve and getting out of pn17 status soon (quite confident from Chirs Dalton's comment recently)...
buy on weakness...hold on strength...sell when above 1.00, 1.50,2.00,10.00...=)

#focuz...i am not an expert...i am just a normal investor like you..
but i can give you my 2 cents opinion on cap...
actually i am not really familiar with cap...but if i am just looking at china macro economy and the potential of sumatec....i think i would go for sumatec for the time being...
still remember when i studied finance last time...we will opt for the project with higher IRR or NPV when we have a few mutually exclusive projects on hand...i think sumatec is able to provide us with greater returns in the future...
and also....plan an exit/cut loss point when you go in next time...esp playing contra...
remember to limit your losses and let your profit runs.....

yes...according to #ozzie75...they won't be restricted themselves only to kazakhstan...any oilfields will huge potential + sound economy and stable politically they will be looking at it too...in the future...
sumatec will be financing through rights offering and bonds issuance...
with current zero debt... to me this is a gd move if the potential profit margin > financing cost...
hohup and sumatec pn17 upliftment are quite dif as hohup is a property counter with jv with malton and contruction project in iraq..
sumatec is in o&g oil exporation industry...the profit margin, mgmt and directors (notably halim and ahmad johari, chris dalton), turnaround timeframe are so much better than hohup.
i am actually quite confident on sumatec...but again...potential is there...risk is there as well...just be cautious and do your homework b4 making any decisions...

#focuz...yes...i came across this book more than 15 yrs ago...
ppl are buying sumatec and keeping it for long term...
volume will be decreasing due to less free float in the market...
so shareholders disposing a bit (to them is a bit, to us maybe a lot) to generate the volume it required...if i m right, u will see sumatec continue its uptrend in the following weeks....

anyone remember wat happen to hohup?
the share price dropped like hell of no one business after the sucessful upliftment....sorry...another cold blanket...
but in sumatec....i trust...in Chirs Dalton...i trust...
i believe in his 16 yrs experience in halliburton oil&gas division...
i believen in halim's choice of making him the turnaround CEO...
your patience will be much rewarded if you continue to hold...

sorry...i m not trying to put cold blanket on all the believers in sumatec...but i reckon it as part of my duty to remind all
#focuz...cant really give u a direct answer whether to buy or sell...
but u can invest with strategies...for eg. buy 100 lots and sell it slowly, partially.... @0.43,0.6,1.5,3....

Sumatec currently is putting all eggs in one basket..meaning all their oilfields are in kazakhtan...be it onshore or near-shore oilfields...
other than this...Sumatec is also facing the risks of financing costs, volatility of oil price (nymex and brent)...

the directors sold shares via open markets..to whom are they selling to? or just from left hand to right hand? is it to their "own people"? or they just want to control the price as rising too fast already? conspiracy? selling with agenda? to create negative sentiment? or just pure profit taking? or no future in the company? hahaha....anyone with brain could see it clearly....
