DestinyL correctly pointed out…. Abt 33 million MY population can never compare with USA’s 330 million population and UK’s population….
I personally am more afraid of Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia slowly replacing Malaysia as ASEAN Manufacturing Hubs or as Regional HQs…..
MY’s domestic economy too small to compare with the large populations of Indonesia, Thailand or Vietmam…

From my previous work experience, when foreign commerce groups made visible their grouses against MY Govt or any parties…… I won’t be surprised if some of the MNCs already had their 3,5,10 year plans set out & approved by their respective HQ (Headquarters).
Whether Malaysia would remain as MNCs base in South East Asia Region or ASEAN region…. remained to be seen

Local economy in MY oost-pandemic very hard to say… US Ambassador to MY, certain Japanese, German and Dutch commerce groups here reported voiced their ‘warnings’ to leave Malaysia in view of how our govt is handling the covid situations since last year….
Commerce groups representing who?
Means if they the MNCs really leave MY, thousands of Msians maybe out of job or more jobs?
