KUALA LUMPUR: Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd’s subsidiary Foxconn Singapore Pte Ltd has emerged as a substantial shareholder in Dagang Nexchange Bhd(DNeX) after purchasing 120 million shares.

A filing with Bursa Malaysia showed the shares, representing a 5.03% stake, were acquired on June 10 from its existing shareholders.

DNeX group managing director Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir said DNeX is always open to any collaboration with strategic partners and investors that can bring value to the group.

“We welcome the entry of the new shareholder, Foxconn. We foresee this latest development can bring great potential to DNeX and we believe Foxconn’s entry can offer opportunities to unlock and create value across the high technology sector value chain and beyond, ” he said.

Syed Zainal said potential areas for collaboration between DNeX and Foxconn are semiconductor and downstream products, electric vehicle and businesses related to the electric vehicle value chain.

When foreign funds leave our markets it tell us something we may not fully be aware. Currently it’s the local retail investors that are the main buyers, supporting our Bursa.

Possible a turnaround piece of news. Huge amount of private placement - must be financially strong investor (s). I believe the investor(s), most likely institutional, would hv carried out due diligence and satisfied with what DNex has to offer

If DNex price still slides down after such an encouraging piece of news ( vote of confidence, if you like) then I don’t know what else to say

Major portion of this huge sum of private placement proceeds most likely will go into SilTerra n Ping, with the residual into working capital

We shall await tmrw with high hopes of better days to come

DNex price has fallen 20% since beginning of Apr. Despite strong support it is still slipping down by half sen or 1sen. Strictly not recommended for day or contra traders.

Hopefully the slip stops at 78 sen.

Yes, no doubt DNex is a good company so investor must be patient till mid May when the pieces starts to fall into place

For day/contra players, your chance will come when there is a sudden surge in volume and price.

Give DNex a break. Just two weeks of gradual slide most want the give up on DNex. Next day if it shoots up, suddenly ‘DNex my darling’. Lol

I beg to differ that DNex will drop back to 18. Stretching your imagination to the extreme.

Worst is yet to come? Well, it’s possible. But it is also possible for a rebound as warrant conversions, contra sales hv been well absorbed with strong support at .78 - 80 sen range.

Agreed, prices have slide down past days. Oversold position? Possible. I’m not a true chartist but I reckon a rebound soon.

Foxconn take up Private Placement and buy more shares in the open market to become major shareholder of DNex. They can then seek board representation and subsequently can exert some degree of influence since DNex owns 60% of Silterra.

If this wishful scenario plays out ... wow. Share price will move up quickly

I would think as fellow investors, be it day traders, contra players, margin players or long term investors, we should share good advices - to sell or to hold with substantiated views rather than create fear. Understandably some investors bought at a high price and are facing huge paper losses. They are already sad. Let’s not create unnecessary or unwarranted fears for these people.

No doubt DNex has good prospects, tho some will differ which opionions I will respect. For those who bought high, if you hv the financial means to hold on, don’t despair. For those, who don’t hv the financial strength and/or patience, you may want to cut your losses and ‘fight another day’

Whatever, we are all here to make some money NOT to ridicule and/or laugh at others.

Above all, stay strong, keep faith and do good with valuable inputs/advices. Good things comes to those who are good to others

Only when these four issues are put to rest I would think the share price will just drift between 78 - 82 sen.

The 4 issues :

1. Warrant conversions
2. Private Placement - who n what the price
3. Ping final payment for the additional 60%
4. SilTerra final payment and robust growth plans

Let’s see within next couple of weeks if there are any positive developments

Whatever ... those who praised Dataprep sky high have a valid point. Just 10 days ago Dataprep at one point dropped below Dnex’s share price and today it’s 3 times the share price of DNex. Nevermind that Dataprep’s biznes has less to offer ( presumably by many ) the fact remains its share price dwarfs DNex.

Many loyal Dnexian, myself included, are utterly disappointed. Rightly so ... the Analysts Presentation, the hype on Ping n SilTerra and lately the CEO’s comments have little impact on me investors’ confidence in DNex. This is evident in the gradual sliding of its share price.

We can only stay put and look forward towards a recovery

I had a chat with a good investment banker friend of mine on DNex. He said DNex has great potential and current price is not reflective of its intrinsic value. He too opined that someone is restricting the upward price movement for reason(s) known only to ‘inner circles’. Nevertheless he thinks DNex has found a strong foundation price at 80sen and once matters are cleared it will go up to RM1.10 first resistance level. If this is broken then the next level of is RM1.50

DNex will complete the acquisitions of both Ping and SilTerra before end of 2nd quarter of 2021 ie by June. Both these 2 acquisitions are brilliant purchases.

Dnex is acquiring an additional 60% of the issued share capital in Ping Petroleum Ltd for US$78 million (RM314.3 million), as the group looks to further strengthen its presence in the upstream oil and gas (O&G) segment.

The transaction price for the 60% stake represents a discount of around 40% of the market valuation of Ping’s proved and probable (2P) reserve. The purchase will be satisfied by a combination of US$40.95 million (RM165.0 million) in cash, and the issuance of new ordinary shares in DNeX and new redeemable preference shares in its wholly owned unit DNeX Energy Sdn Bhd, for the remaining US$37.05 million (RM149.3 million). Purchase at 40% discount - now realising the full benefit especially with rise in oil prices.

SilTerra is another strategic buy as demand for chips will increase with EV cars, Smart phones, smart devices, IoT etc. He says look at Proton. Proton was a ‘sick man’ until Geely came in and today Proton is super healthy. The same will happen to SilTerra and at a faster pace as SilTerra has already established itself in the world market but needs more production capacities and innovation.

DNex and CGP Fund have committed to a capital injection of at least RM200 million.

From the capital injection, approximately RM150 million will be mainly utilised as to upgrade SilTerra’s equipment and manufacturing capabilities in new technologies.

Add the above to its on-going established biznes ( digital n cables) DNex will be a gem soon.

Sca Lix, I totally agree with you. Those who had access to DNex Analyst Presentation materials will want to put aside some of their surplus funds into DNex. I reckon that by end June latest when Ping n SilTerra acquisitions by then would have been wrapped up we will see the instrinsic value in DNex. In between any positives news, example digital contracts with Msian govt and Indonesian ventures will push the value up

Statically those who in invest medium to longer term tends to reap more harvest than contra/short term gain players

I read the Analyst Presentation Materials shared with me by my Investment Banker. There is so much potential in DNex and it appears to me the present management team is clear and focus on building DNex to the next level. Of course as an investor I’m quite disappointed that DNex share price is not reflective of its potential. Perhaps there is a greater game plan and until all the pieces are in place only then will DNex surge to new highs. We hv to keep faith and be patient.

The pp price is this as disclosed by DNex is 78.6 per share and the gross proceeds is RM700.81mil which will be utilised to partly or fully finance the acquisition of SilTerra and additional general working capital for the group.

Normally PP price is determined by the preceding 5days average price and at a discount of 10 - 20% of the 5-day average

So if we were use the mean discount of 15%, working backwards the average 5 day price should be circa 92sen

As such today’s closing of .805 is a good price point to invest for medium to long term.

Again ... you decide on your risk appetite and financial capacity. This is not a call to buy or sell

Seriously the drop in DNex share price caught most, if not all Dnexians by surprise. When it announced the definitive agreement to acquire SiTerra most hopefuls were talking about limit up, which under most circumstances would hv happened.

But why it did not happened but instead the price turned south bound. No one knows for sure what is the game plan of those operator(s) behind these drop in prices for past days.

Some point to Warrant conversions, some put the blame on ESOS. Many pinpoint Private Placement agenda to suppress the 5 day average price thingy. Others say it could be coordinated short-selling by operators.

Understandably, Those who lost cursed the counter. Some die-hards stayed calm and remained positive that the prices will rebound.

I think DNex should be transparent over the performance of SilTerra whether it’s making profit or loss, and what is the quantum.

Additionally, get the PP thingy over with including paying up the purchase price of Silterra and the additional 60% acquisition of Ping.

All these actions will put a stop to speculation and unwanted comments be them positive, negative or vulgar.

I hope the CEO and Khazanah officials read this humble comment.
