The best way to end CCP is to present to 1.4 billion Chinese the true history of CCP's illegal seizure of power. HONG KONG can work with Taiwanese and the conscientious intellectuals in mainland China to complete the real history and then spread it widely through various channels.

AirAsia Group says triggered PN17 but won’t be classified as such

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Group Bhd (AAGB) says it has triggered the prescribed criteria of the Practice Note 17 (PN17) of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia but it won't be classified as such under the PN17 relief measures.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday, it said that its external auditors, Messrs Ernst & Young PLT, had issued an unqualified audit opinion with emphasis of matter on material uncertainty relating to going concern.

This was in reference to AAGB's audited financial statements for the financial year ended Dec 31,2019 and AAGB's shareholders’ equity on a consolidated basis is 50% or less of its share capital (excluding treasury shares).

AAGB's shareholders’ equity on a consolidated basis as at March 31,2020 is 37% of its share capital (excluding treasury shares).

“For the avoidance of doubt, AAGB will not be classified as a PN17 listed issuer and will not be required to comply with the obligations pursuant to Paragraph 8.04 and PN17 of the Main LR for a period of 12 months from the date of this announcement, ” it said.

AAGB said it would re-assess its condition and announce whether it continues to trigger any of the criteria in PN17 of the Main LR upon the expiry of the 12 months from the date of this announcement.

To recap, Bursa had via its letter dated April 16,2020 granted affected listed issuers relief from complying with the obligations due to PN17 relief measures from April 17 to June 30,2021.

Trading in AAG was suspended in the morning session and will start at 2.30pm on Wednesday.

Brazil's president Bolsonaro tests positive for Covid-19

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP): Brazil’s president Jair Bolsonaro says he has tested positive for Covid-19 after months of downplaying the virus’ severity.

Bolsonaro confirmed the test results while wearing a mask and speaking to reporters in capital Brasilia.

"I'm well, normal. I even want to take a walk around here, but I can't due to medical recommendations, ” Bolsonaro said.

The president has often appeared in public to shake hands with supporters and mingle with crowds, at times without a mask.

He has said that his history as an athlete would protect him from the virus, and that it would be nothing more than a "little flu” were he to contract it.

He has also repeatedly said that there is no way to prevent 70% of the population falling ill with Covid-19, and that local authorities' measures to shut down economic activity would ultimately cause more hardship than allowing the virus to run its course.

Cities and states last month began lifting restrictions that had been imposed to control the spread of the virus, as their statistical curves of deaths began to decline along with the occupation rate of its intensive-care units.

Brazil, the world’s sixth most populous nation, with more than 210 million people, is one of the global hot spots of the pandemic.

On Monday, Bolsonaro told supporters in Brasilia that he underwent an X-ray of his lungs that showed they were clean, and that he would be tested for Covid-19.

On Tuesday, he told CNN Brasil that his fever had subsided.

Over the weekend, the Brazilian leader celebrated the US Independence Day with the nation’s ambassador to Brazil, then shared pictures on social media showing him with his arm around the ambassador alongside several ministers and aides. None wore masks, despite being in close quarters.

The US Embassy said on Twitter on Monday that Ambassador Todd Chapman is not showing any Covid-19 symptoms but would be tested.

Bolsonaro tested negative three times in March after meeting with the US president Donald Trump in Florida. Multiple members of his delegation to the US were later reported to be infected with the virus.

More than 65,000 Brazilians have so far died from Covid-19 and more than 1,500,000 have been infected. Both numbers are the world's second-highest totals, and are considered to be undercounts to the lack of widespread testing.

It is beyond a shadow of a doubt that Mahathir cannot be trusted. He may play out Anwar again even if given a chance to be the PM for six months.

Yes, the best solution is to go for a snap election. Let the people decide who will the future PM whether it is Mahathir, Anwar, Shafie, Muhyiddin, Najib Abdul Razak or Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

This is a Malay country. If most Malays want to choose Najib as the new PM, so be it. Even if Anwar loses in any future snap election, he will lose with dignity. If most Malays want this country to go to the dogs, let it be. It is their choice.

It shouldn’t take a book deal for members of this administration to come clean about impeachable offenses they witnessed from Trump.

There's a reason he thinks he’s above the law. Those around him—from his cabinet to Republicans in Congress—have failed to hold him accountable.

What's worse is that children of parents who are illiterate, and do not know the procedures to register their children (with some even given the run around by authorities) and those born in the estates, are unable to obtain citizenship.

Even after years of appealing to the relevant authorities, they are unsuccessful. So, where's the equality or compassion to our own Malaysians?

Very good expose on areas that really impacted the local community. Considering what you said about the complicity of politicians, city Councillors, business owners, i am not so sure that local election in PJ would result in much change.

Secondly, I grew up in the era of AliBaba - Malays derisively being called as rent seekers, stupid voters and lazy businessmen. I was told to look up to the Chinese businessmen because they are hard working, enterprising, great business ethics, smart voters and upstanding taxpayers. I didn’t realize that they also do BabaGanesh (Ganesh being Nepalese, Bangladeshi and such) business.

An investor must prepare both financially and psychologically for the fluctuations certain to occur in the market.

There are two ways an investor tries to profit from fluctuations:

1. Timing: Buy when you think the price will go up, and then sell once it goes up.
2. Pricing: Buy when the price is below fair value and sell once it reaches or exceeds fair value.

Consistent market timing is exceptionally difficult, as is evident by the countless market predictions and forecasts by industry professionals that differ from actual events by a wide margin. The variety of these predictions is great enough that an investor can make any move he chooses and find a prediction that supports this move.

Graham goes so far as to say it is absurd to think that the general public can ever make money out of market forecasting. There is no basis in logic or history to believe otherwise.

With regard to the pricing approach, Graham says that this is also extremely difficult to properly execute. Cycles often last for 5 years or more which causes people to lose their nerve and act irrationally. For example, in a prolonged bull market, people may fear being left behind, so they buy at the slightest indication of a bear market, feel vindicated as the prices escalate further, and then lose when the real bear market returns.

Also, any signals identified by experts to help determine whether this is a bear or bull market have been shown to be inconsistent in successfully identifying the position in the market cycle.

Conclusion: If you are banking on market fluctuations, you will not consistently perform well. Market fluctuations are not sound portfolio policy!

The intelligent investor uses a formulaic approach to determine whether stock prices have risen too high and he should sell, or prices have dropped significantly, and he should buy. Or, in other words, if he should alter the allocation of stocks to bonds in his portfolio (as per the tactical asset allocation policy that Graham discusses in previous chapters). The ideal approach is the re-balancing approach discussed in previous chapters (varying from 50-50 allocation to up to 75-25, and reviewing at set intervals throughout the year).

Business Valuation and Stock-Market Valuation

The stock market is paradoxical in that the highest grade stocks are often the most speculative because they gain great premiums over book value and are based more on the changing moods of the market and its confidence in the premium valuation it had put on the company in the first place. Thus, for conservative investors, they would be best to focus on companies with relatively low premiums placed upon them - a market rate no more than 1/3 above the net tangible-asset value.

However, a stock does not become sound because it can be bought close to asset value. The intelligent investor must also demand a satisfactory price-earnings ratio, sufficiently strong financial position, and the prospect of earnings being maintained over the years.

Intelligent Investors with portfolios close to the net tangible asset valuation of the underlying companies need worry less about stock market fluctuations than those who paid high multiples of earnings and assets. The intelligent investor should disregard the market price and not allow the mistakes that the market will make in its valuation to affect his feelings about the business. Do not let the market’s madness fool you into selling your shares at a loss - such a move requires reasoned judgment independent of the market price.

I always had a lot of respect for Rais as an elder politician, but he has let me and many others down with his statement with regard to "the country's past experience of accepting other races" (when dealing with Rohingya refugees).

He is obviously referring to the Chinese, Indians and Indonesians. He should have confined his statement to the present situation regarding the Rohingya ‘refugees’.

I feel deeply hurt by his statement, and my sentiment is shared by the millions of patriotic Malaysians of various ethnic origins. Rais should rightly apologise to all Malaysians for his verbal outburst.

Now that the movement control order (MCO) is partially lifted, Malay politicians will be back to their old tricks of racism, lies and bigotry.

Negeri Sembilan Bersatu chief Rais Yatim, a running dog of former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, is doing his master's bidding.

Rais, of Indonesian extraction himself, should know that the peninsula was predominantly Orang Asli until the immigrant Muslims comprising Indonesians, Pakistanis, Indians, Arabs and Thais started to land on the peninsula and were conveniently categorised by the British as 'Malays' for political divide-and-rule reasons.

These 'Malays' arrived on our shores in similar fashion to the Rohingyas and their numbers started to outnumber the Orang Asli tribes. They were enslaved by these immigrants and gradually found themselves pushed to the interior through land grabs which the immigrants are doing to this day.

What Rais is saying about the Rohingyas actually can be applied to himself. He is arrogant, racist and made a whole host of criminal utterances which are seditious and incite Malays to racial hatred, but being a Malay elite, he appears 'untouchable '.

Your opening lines are highly questionable and methinks, deliberately misleading to win an argument.

"According to UNHCR, as of end-March 2020, there are some 179,520 refugees and asylum-seekers registered with UNHCR in Malaysia....In the first quarter of the year, Malaysia is estimated to have 32.73 million population. Therefore, the number of registered refugees and asylum-seekers in Malaysia is only around 0.55 percent of the whole population of Malaysia."

For reasons best known to you, the millions of illegal, undocumented migrants NOT registered with any body are deliberately omitted. Which makes everything else you say merely hot air.
