Yes, very confusing indeed moneymaker168! The Government is making things complicated and difficult. Once they announce the category or sub-category they should leave it to the traders to operate their businesses without having to apply for another permit. All that is required should be the traders' respective business licence or permits

Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has proven to the world community that Malaysians do believe in Science and Medicines. They are meticulous about it. Dr Hisham represents an era of Islamic community given much importance to primary healthcare and valued healthcare services as noble as any religious ethos or theology. Dr Hisham’s parent's generation believes in the goodness of humanity and the importance of preserving human life. We thank God for that generation of pre-Puast Islam.
The generation that was willing to share its wealth and prosperity to all the residence of that time irrespective of races, creed, the colour of skin or traditions. They ensured none of its residents ever became economic or social refugees fleeing the shores of Malaya. A generation determined to live in peace and harmony with all kind of diverse communities. Dr Hisham is the child of that generation. He can’t go wrong. As Dr Hisham always tell he is us.

You say it right alipay88! "this is in fact part of “Malaysian culture” to test the limits of authority. Don’t throw them in jail but put them on a slow, preferably leaking, boat to China". Why China? China is far safer than Malaysia now. Should put them on a slow boat to India. That would be more appropriate.

Once chided, Teresa Kok 'happy' successor now proceeding with bamboo planting
Former primary industries minister Teresa Kok said she is happy that her successor, Khairuddin Takiri has decided to proceed with policies related with bamboo planting, despite having criticised the idea when she mooted it last year.
“I am happy that Khairuddin Takiri is continuing the policies and direction towards bamboo planting, which was mooted by me and the Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) last year.
“I believe the new minister has realised that his statement criticising my suggestion in March 2019 was a little unwise as he did not get a clear picture of the suggestion to plant bamboo on a wider scale,” she posted on her Facebook last night.
Kok said Khairuddin might not have known that the article published by Utusan Malaysia, titled ‘Forget oil palm, plant bamboo’ that he had then referred to, was twisted out of context.
On March 3, 2019, Khairuddin had posted on his Facebook questioning Kok’s idea for the bamboo industry.
“Another ‘sensible’ idea from a minister, aside from rubber tapping during the wet season. Plant bamboo and coconuts to replace oil palm.
“They are trying to hide their failure to manage the market prices of palm oil until the prices have fallen so much by coming up with a new idea, which they think is ‘sensible’.
“Is it that easy for ministers to throw ideas out?” Khairuddin had then stated in his Facebook posting.
In her Facebook posting today, Kok also said she is willing to offer advice, opinions and suggestions on the bamboo initiative or any other matters under her former ministry.
On Feb 24, the Pakatan Harapan government collapsed after Bersatu and several PKR leaders led by Azmin Ali defected and joined hands with BN and PAS.
This new cooperation later received the support of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), enabling the parties to form a simple majority Perikatan Nasional government with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin at the helm.

In short. Malaysia has been too reliant on oil and not innovative enough to actually progress the nation economically
Both government and commerce has viewed Malaysians as serfs to be used and abused To feed their own selfish ends
Instead they should have been seen as assets to increase the productivity and diversification of the economy
The collapse of oil prices has exposed Malaysia to a reality which Harapan could not deal with. The pandemic will see the end of the Malaysian delusion, because there will be nothing left on which to rebuild the economy.
Oil is down, agriculture in under productive and unsaleable
We can no longer survive on slave labour and pillaging resources

The agencies are not sleeping..but paid to shut an eye. Once illegals are here, these agencies will catch them and rob them. In some cases, rape them too. And cant have IPCMC either coz majority are dirty and corrupted. Same for other agencies, might have to close all down. They really have no dignity at all, even lying is ok in their believe.

No income during MCO causing many foreign workers to starve
Those in the rural areas are a lot more badly affected than the workers in the urban areas, says the migrant rights NGO.
that those working in the construction and manufacturing sectors are badly affected."They can't go to work, therefore they are not paid and do not have money to buy food.“The situation in rural areas is worse than in urban areas."They are stranded in remote areas with less help, or no help at all," Aegile said.
The activist added that in urban areas, at least there are local groups providing assistance to help migrant workers.Currently, the activist group has identified such vulnerable foreign workers in rural areas in Kedah, Perak and Johor. Some factories have resumed operation
However, Aegile said, some employers have given positive feedback in providing for the welfare of foreign workers.“Some factories have resumed operation and the workers are allowed to stay there instead of having to commute to work. Food is also supplied.

yes zillionaire, A backdoor government indeed, As the PM admitted, it was not elected by the people. It was brought into being through treachery, backstabbing. Now the perks are being distributed regardless. And all this during a life-threatening national crisis when we cannot even see the light at the end of the tunnel.
To all our responsible leaders, who have the interest of the country in their heart, to G25, to Rafidah Aziz, must we have to sit and watch helplessly, the charade being played out, warm water as a cure for covid-19, doreamon to keep domestic tempers on leash, tick tock to keep amused, a visit to an institution for a specially written Pejuangkita session, the opening of barbershops? Cannot anything be done to hold the ministers accountable?
We seem to be under a government that is directionless, without policies, knee-jerk actions galore, a lot of fish out of water..
It is only because of the clear, unequivocal, steadfast leadership of the Director-General of MOH, that there is some sanity and order
Help. Help, Help.

Your portrayal of Macik Kiah is only secondary. The ordinary Malays selling nasi lemak on the road side and the daily wage earners are all suffering. Your increased votes bank from the civil servants are your only intention of this stimulus plans.

"... to govern guided by integrity, honesty, responsibility, accountability, and dedicated teamwork. Not driven by personal ambitions and goals to the detriment of the nation."
Absolutely correct. If the criteria for selection to head a GLC is merely to have an MP status to your name, then PN is nosediving our economy to the dark ages. We need qualified and competent leaders, not just someone who is a member of a political party or even friends linked to for example MO1 pretending to clean up the debts and problems but actually cleaning up the money for themselves.
We can see not all of PH's chosen ones are competent either. Some of these incompetent people are still sitting on the boards and management, still enjoying the perks and fat cheques that come with their appointment and pushing their personal agenda onto the GLC. The discontent is finally being brought to light by PATRIOT. .
The Armed Forces Pension Fund (LTAT) is under fire from this veterans group Patriot who are complaining loudly and publicly regarding LTAT's investment Boustead Bhd starting with BHIC's freefalling share price and the overall handling responsible is by its CEO Dato Amrim. Changes are overdue. While LTAT's Chief Executive and technocrat Nik Amlizan has done a commendable job cleaning up POST-BN, however board members and political appointees Maznah Jalil and Akhram Sanusi are such huge question marks. How qualified are they to sit alongside established army generals and experienced investment managers in LTAT? How did they even get appointed there? Are they even deeper inside their subsidiaries and who are their kuncus if any? What is crystal clear is with the huge billions losses they are failing in their jobs ... Some netizens are asking when as like what the Patriot pointed out, there needs to be immediate removal of such political appointees.
Next why LTAT's Boustead Bhd seems like inow a complete worst mess. Analysts have said that it's technically bankrupt. Is that right? The new CEO Amrim has obviously failed to turn it around. Their companies have not become better butt far far worst. Really its worst financial performance losing more than RM 1.2 Billions. Worst ever in history.. Unheard of Amrim can lose so much money, almost half of 1MDB 2.6 Billion of MO1 slushy money and not get fired yet? How did he get the job? Chosen as friendly to old MO1 cronies? This is the Army Pension Fund we talking about right? The frontliners at MCO saving our lives right? And this is how we repay them? That's not the criteria set out by TS Rafidah. So they should be sacked immediately and those 50:50 should have their pays and perks reduced by 70 percent. Keep the money for the army boys not for the political cronies. Enough of this ScUMNO. Thank you TS Rafidah.

This is Rafidah Aziz's way of reminding PN leaders she is still alive, available and kicking and this is a verbal job application

We had a clear objective of enforcing the MCO; to flatten the curve, to lead Malaysians out of the critical parameters of the pandemic.
Have we already achieved this? A plateau by any other name is still critical. Are we sure it will not resurge with a vengeance and pull us into an abyss instead of holding out for just a while longer?
It would be a betrayal not just to the rakyat, but to all out front liners from medical to municipality who have work so selflessly keep us safe. And sane.
Yes, there’s the economy, a sedentary nation, already failing businesses, employment, impending inflation, financial crisis, and so many other considerations.
A revised MCO allows for partial movement with ‘strict terms and clear guidelines to ensure it is not abused’ is not going to work. We have seen how long it took for Malaysians to adhere.
Let’s not say we ‘could have, should have, ought to have’ in hindsight.

Out of total RM240B Malaysia operating budget for 2020, almost half (RM110B) goes to pay wages & retirement of the bloated civil service. Only a meager RM57B was available for development.
The government Covid19 package further fortified the already secure pubic servant while those in private sectors are in limbo & many facing job loss.
What is the purpose of paying this tax-exempt Entertainment Allowance to the public servant? By right, they should have removed the superfluous EA, instead of merely temporarily cutting a fraction of it.

They should be asked to submit entertainment allowances claim subjected to a ceiling, then it is an actual proof of the money given to them is spent!
Most in top grades do not even touch their salary and allowances as they can live off the air and what else you know! They all become successful businessmen after the retire , courtesy of acumen gained in Civil service BUT sadly none can be seen during their service term!

Those really poor Malaysians especially in the rural areas who never have any tax files and cannot afford would probably not get any bantuan unless someone help them to register. I think the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional has significant flaws in its approach to identify eligible people for the scheme. It uses mostly, data from the Inland Revenue on income tax declared in 2019 to determine eligibility as that was the last income tax data available to the authorities. As such, there will be:
1. Those who are paid more that RM 8000 per month in 2018 but lost their jobs in 2019 who would miss out on BPN payment. There must be a way to allow these group of people to apply for BPN post-MCO, with the appropriate documentations.
2. Those who earned less than RM 8000 per month in 2018 but have earned more than that since then. They could be eligible for BPN.
3. There are business owners who would declare low salaries from companies that they own but have higher actual earnings due to majority of expenses being tagged as cost of doing business and additional income through dividends (dividends are not taxed at individual level), they may be found eligible in the system for BPN.
4. Those who under-declare their income could also be eligible for BPN. In the case of Mahfuz and Fuziah, we have to ask them how did they file their income tax in 2019 when they earn RM 24,880 per month and RM 16,000 per month, for Mahfuz and Fuziah respectively, that in the record of IRB they are earning less than RM 8000 per month.
The government should consider sharpening the accuracy of its selection by taking data from IRB, EPF and Socso.

If wearing the mask amounts to being paranoid, well, you truly did not get the point.
And why don't you tell the frontline medical personnel tirelessly attending to patients that really there is no necessity to wear the mask if they don't want to?

This is the kind of academic research that makes lay people fed up with academics because they seem to lack simple common sense.
In such a pandemic situation when we still don't know how to flatten the curve let alone really stop it and when social distancing is such an important measure to deal with such an insidious and deadly virus, anything will help in some ways.
We know the wearing of the mask is not a magic bullet solution, idiots. We just want to do whatever that we can to minimize as much as possible the chances of being infected.
It is like saying social distancing is the perfect solution, but, of course, it is not.
Besides, why get us all into an unnecessary twist having to mull over whether to wear the mask or not every time we have to go out? Don't we have enough stress already?
The default should be to wear, even though it contributes only in some small way to help us cut down on unknowingly getting infected or spreading it.
What is there to lose with wearing the mask when you have it?

Please read below. Singaporeans oredi got infected with FOMO disease now ! Thanks.
SINGAPORE: Record low interest rates are tempting some retail investors in Singapore to load up on debt to buy shares, just as the coronavirus outbreak creates the most volatile markets since the global financial crisis.
Earlier this year, 31-year-old insurance agent Heng Kai Sheng got advances on three separate credit cards to the tune of S$150,000 (US$105,000).
With the money, he opened a share-financing account at a local bank and pledged the lot as collateral.
He was granted leverage of around 3.5 times, a S$500,000 kitty Heng’s plowing into the stock market.
“As Asians, our parents always tell us ‘don’t borrow money, repay your mortgage as soon as possible’, ” said Heng, whose initial S$170,000 share portfolio now totals about S$135,000. “But money is so cheap.”
According to preliminary data from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, bank financing for stock purchases by retail investors rebounded in February after three consecutive months of declines.
Individuals pumped around S$2bil into equities in March, 50% more than the previous month, Singapore Exchange Ltd data showed.
The increase comes as the nation’s benchmark equity gauge registered its worst quarter since the global financial crisis. The SPDR Straits Times Index ETF, the largest Singapore-listed exchange-traded fund tracking the city-state’s stocks, saw net inflows of about S$247mil in the three months ended March 31, its largest quarterly boost since 2002, Bloomberg-compiled data showed.
“There are probably new and existing investors who aren’t leveraged who would definitely want to take advantage of the sell-off to buy shares, ” said Joel Ng, an analyst at KGI Securities (Singapore) Pte.
There are also some suggestions retail investors may be using their homes as collateral to borrow money.
David Gerald, founder of investor lobby group Securities Investors Association (Singapore), said he was aware that investors “may want to refinance their housing loans” in the low-rate environment to free up cash for equity investments. However, “investors should be cautious not to over-leverage” in volatile markets because they may face margin calls, he added.
Not everyone is joining the party. While share financing by banks rose in February, the amount decreased 11% when compared to a year ago. And according to Ng, margin calls “really intensified” in March, particularly for private-bank clients who were sold leveraged products or who took on debt to buy real-estate investment trusts.
Heng said he had a three- to-five-year horizon for his investments, and maintains he’s doing the math to make sure he can always cover the interest, which ranges from 1.38% to 2.03% on the credit cards.
Some of the shares he bought include Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp, which slumped 21% last quarter, Singapore Telecommunications Ltd, down 25%, and Mapletree Industrial Trust, which declined 6.5%.
Heng knows he’s taking a risk but he’s not too worried.
“For young people like us, even if you fail, you can make up the capital, ” he said. “If you have sufficient earning power, you should take a bit more risk.”

SINGAPORE (April 6): Singapore announced S$5.1 billion ($3.55 billion) in additional economic spending such as wage support, waiver of levies and one-off payments to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
“This is an unprecedented budget for extraordinary times,” Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat told parliament on Monday, just over a week after the city-state unveiled more than $30 billion in new support measures as it braces for its worst recession.
On Friday, Singapore said it will close schools and most workplaces for a month as part of stricter measures to curb a recent jump in coronavirus infections. Singapore has reported a total of 1,309 infections and six deaths from the coronavirus.
Heng said the new measures unveiled in the third budget will increase the total spending on coronavirus relief to S$59.9 bln or 12% of gross domestic product (GDP). He said Singapore will draw an additional S$4 billion from its past reserves to fund the new measures.
“The situation remains highly fluid and uncertain. The government stands ready to provide further support should it become necessary,” Heng said.
Heng said Singapore’s overall budget deficit for financial year 2020 is expected to increase to S$44.3 billion, or 8.9% of GDP.
