There are plenty of reasons to champion for freedom and autonomy in HK; I also welcome that. However, I am not willing to subvert the prosperity of HK simply for the nebulous notion of electing the Chief Executive or not accepting some nonsense from China. If we had played their game and give some, we will be able to “guarantee” more prosperity for the foreseeable future. This will be good for many.
Clearly, I have no backbone. Clearly I just want prosperity. With prosperity and outward stability, we can all have a more solid base to plan our exit from HK, or whatever game plan you intend to execute.
I just want to remind all pro-independence folks, the logical end to all your protests is revolt/insurrection. If you are willing to die for freedom, proceed down the road. It is because these shameful countries would also place China to the bottom of their supply list (plus other absurd demands) if they found the vaccines first. However, China must be very careful to ensure it works and reasonably safe (as there is always side effect to any drug in this world) to take prior to release any moderate news out, otherwise these shameful countries would have a field day.
