Indeed, the acquisition is done through a share swap, if my theory is right, the share price of MBSB is kept deliberately low so that parent company of MIDF can get more shares through the selling price valuation of MIDF, and by the share exchanges is done, goreng the price up 20 to 30% and both parties will be happy with the deal at the end of the transaction and also can report better financial gains for both sides by end of the year.

The driving catalyst now is the acquisition of MIDF...if successful will be going up to even higher then 70sen

Is there still any chance MBSB will go up given the macro situations is facing inflationary and recession pressure? Those holding MBSB last 4 to 5 years are all losing money on this counter.

Since institutional investors are so jittery and MBSB is profitable, why not just use some money and do a shares buy back and push up the price? Does the useless management think of it rather then letting it trading so low which is bad for the company.

Other loss making company like Airxxxx are still forecasting not profitable for next few years but still trading higher then MBSB who is profitable is just beyond my understanding

If the merging of MBSB and MIDF is done through shares swap, then there's a purpose or a conspiracy theory to keep the share price of MBSB low to benefit the current holders of MIDF.

It is now trading less then 0.5 of the book value...how low is it going to get before some wood head do something about it? Coldeye must have been swearing at the top of his lungs...

Why does it takes forever in announcing the 5 winners of the digital banking license?

Digital banking license are almost a done deal for the consortium including MIDF, which will soon be a part of MBSB. Those holding MBSB will soon be rewarded. I bet the news of acquisition will follow quickly after the awarding if the license.

News aside, the fair value based on dividends given should be priced at least 80sen....I will just grab if I were you. More good news will follow in the near future

I hope the last QR has already factored in all the technical losses due to the moratorium and back in the black for the last Qtr....with write backs and etc....the full year report will be in historical high earnings for MBSB I think. This counter is preparing to move higher back in the RM1.00 and above.

At some point within this 4 months before converting MBSB to MBSB Bank, they will have to hype up the price to make it relevant to the market price of bank shares....they might also do a consolidation...like from 4:1 ...

3 sen in interim dividend still cannot move this counter really makes me scratch my head and wonder does Msian really know how to in nvest

3Q losses are modification loss due to moratorium, so 4Q should be back in black and if more write back are in the line, we can then expect to see a overall earnings of 8 send per shares if not we will see at least 7 sen. So next year I would expect dividend of 3 to 5 sen, 5 will be on the high side.

Bank is sitting on a pile of money, MBSB have not spend a cent paying the last dividend, it was paid for by diluting your shares. So a 3 send dividend this time is fair because after the write back the money, it should be given back to the investors. Good moves by MBSB, Monday back to 60 sen

Finally CIMB today have given investor some comfort in continuing to hold the stock in the mid long term.

A major crash like this one over the last 2 months will need to have a reason, but what is it? CIMB do not have spokes man coming out to tell what is happening?

In the near week, we may see a reverse situation, that RHB will drop and CIMB shoot up to make the merger deal more feasible...but the big boys have already make their $$$....and if CIMB goes back to RM7.20 level, RHB still get the 0.38 per share difference.

CIMB is hence very much undervalue now not due entirely to the poor earning result but by artificial suppression....is the merger still fair for CIMB? Unless there is a push up in share price otherwise the merger may be hanging in thin air...CIMB directors and share holders are not so stupid and agree to such a unfair merger.

Looks like the sell down of CIMB is a silent protest against the merger, CIMB is a bigger bank in terms of capitalization and therefore there are more shares floating in the market, but that should not be the reason for the share swap at 1.38 CIMB to 1 RHB share, to me this is unfair to the CIMB share holder, more ever now because of current CIMB share price, they ( I suppose RHB) is asking for more CIMB share for the merger deal. I smell a conspiracy whereby the other share holders holding both CIMB and RHB shares to dump CIMB and buy RHB so that they will get 0.38 more CIMB shares after the share swap, and since they are of the same bank after the merger, the price will naturally be push higher then what RHB price were....hmm...could this be possible? They are playing at the expense of the minority share holder interest if that is the case.

There is a huge marriage deal worth 15.5 million done at the price of 5.31, looks like something is brewing...watch out for the next big change.

The volume traded daily trail Maybank by a big margin, the big fund are all sideline watching, will be a matter of time when the funds come in to pick up this counter then we shall see a rebound on the card. Now it is mostly retail investor playing the stock. Oil is stabilizing and if it can rise to the $70.00 level, it will be best for world economy without hurting the stock market. The current volatile situation are created by the market big boys to play and rake in $$$, it should be over soon in my opinion.

The selling of CIMB by foreign fund seems to have an agenda that link to the share swap with RHB but exactly how I am still trying to figure out. What appalled me was CIMB watch the episode while not doing anything to stop the slides. One way to plug this is to have someone from CIMB negotiate with MUFJ to have a share buy back the share MUFJ intended to dump at a fair price of above the currently traded and with the pretext that they cannot sell anymore until the merger have taken place after 3 mths or 6 mths, in this way it will immediately lift the share price and also do some good for CIMB supporters like us.
CIMB should start to do something to stop the price from further sliding..it is now in a dangerous oversold region.

Support at 5.25 coming in fast and furious...hopefully it has bottom out at this price, but having said that, it will takes a while for it to recoup.
