I think Comfort may suit you better. It gives out "dividends" and its share price is also at 52-week low.

But, do take note that major shareholder Lau likes to sell his own Comfort shares in the market. As far as I can recall, he had been actively selling a big chunk of his Comfort mother shares last year during the super bull run days of 2020/2021. Even now, he is still actively selling his zero-cost Comfort WB too. He will surely need more investors to support the share price.

Extracted from the circular:
"After due consideration of the various methods of fund raising, the Board opines that the Proposed Private Placement is the most appropriate avenue of fund raising as the Proposed Private Placement enables the Company to raise funds expeditiously without incurring interest costs as compared to conventional bank borrowings thereby minimising any potential cash
outflow in respect of interest servicing costs.
The Proposed Private Placement also provides the Company an expeditious way of raising funds from the capital market as opposed to other forms of fund raising. Upon completion of the Proposed Private Placement, the enlarged capital base is also expected to further strengthen the financial position of the Company."

jackfruit Rubberex plant expansion for another 7.5 billion pcs of nitril glove that required 400million. One thing I don't understand why they don't borrow money from the bank when interest is so low. Smart management will borrow and at the same time paid dividend to shareholders. Rubberex cash flow is strong and stable. The way the price is falling like waiting for a third party to take over the company. Maybe Comfort or Careplus are eyeing at rubberex as both also cash rich.

Stock

There was an obvious reason why Rubberex management needed to raise cash via pp to fund partially the planned capacity expansion.

RATIONALE OF THE PROPOSED PRIVATE PLACEMENT(extracted from the circular)
The Proposed Private Placement will enable Rubberex to raise the necessary funds to part finance the capital expenditure required and working capital of the Group as described in Section 3 of this announcement.
https://www.bursamalaysia.com/market_information/announcements/company_announcement/announcement_details?ann_id=3168364

The total net proceeds raised of RM66.1 million have been earmarked for further
expansion into nitrile disposable gloves production lines at a new manufacturing site in Lahat, Kinta District, Perak.

In view of this, I would choose to give the benefit of the doubt as to why its management is not giving any dividend this time around.

Yes, I do agree that dividend is welcome news for the investors. But we must not forget that share price will be adjusted too on the xd date. Eg Comfort share price dropped about 8 sen on the xd day recently, when the dividend payment was only 4 sen.

Dividend payment is like drawing cash out from the company's cash reserve. Share price has to be adjusted for this change.

In a bull mkt, adjustment will be less. But on a bad mkt day, adjustment will be more.

neutralist,

Both Albukhary and you have done a fine job in analysing and highlighting the salient points of the quarterly report. I do not have much to add, except to say:

1. Rubberex’s Managing Director, Mr. Khoo Chin Leng, reiterates that, “Despite
signs of glove prices gradually easing in recent weeks, demand for gloves, specifically disposable gloves, and other personal protective equipment perseveres in this on-going pandemic and notwithstanding higher rates of vaccination globally, shall remain persistent at the forefront of protection, safety and hygiene.”
Hopefully, market has more or less priced in already the ASP drop of the Rubberex gloves, given its current share price.

2. As at last quarter report, Rubberex had a NTA per share of 63 sen, backed by a strong cash position, this would provide a good cushion on the share price.

Frankly, my relative strength is not so much on analysing financial reports, but rather on interpreting/analysing the shares market trading dynamics, which I have learnt over the years.

Hope I can contribute in my small way.

Yes, you brought up a good point, which I had highlighted before. From my analysis, I could deduce that the operator was buying(or covering) back at closing the Rubberex shares that he had sold earlier to press down prices. But he was not able to collect enough shares from our poor investors before matching time to cover the amount sold!

What a strategy that the operator has been using to "con" people into selling their shares everyday and a lot of naive-thinking investors thought there was really so much selling everyday!!! Market is not as simple as we see it.

This is usually "the calm before the storm". Prices can go either way, up or down more in a wider range after the result release, depending on how the market(as dictated by the big boys) interprets the result. So, on the safer side, never try to bet on any corporate result before its release.

After some retreat, the play today is on steel counters.

Result is expected to be good for the last quarter, as it would also include a realization of an investment gain from the resale of its treasury shares last quarter by the management.

But what matters more is what the management has to say about the company's performance, its business plan and prospect(including the ASP expected).

If they have something extra(eg dividend, free renounceable warrant) to announce, that would be a bonus.

I just had my lunch. I have a bit of time now to entertain you, smyang11. Let me ask you some pertinent questions on your recent postings:
1. On what basis did you come up with the fair value of RM 0.80 for Comfort Gloves?
Why not say 0.90, RM 1 or RM1.20, or something else? Are you a qualified stock analyst who is competent enough to work out the fair price? I do not own any Comfort shares, but I feel you could mislead some innocent investors or newbies!
2. Your comments on ES Ceramics Technology and GD Express Carrier seem to tell me that you do not know how stock market works. Stock prices go by forward pricing and the good news has already been priced in or/and the market outlook has turned dimmer.
3. Why other counters making losses but share price sky rocketing up? This is because the operators are merely targetting at real punters, who like to punt for quick gains. Operators engage in a "naive" game of what we call "pump and dump"!

skcm2017, thanks for the sharing.

There is this Chinese saying"臥虎藏龍"(crouching tigers and hidden dragons), we can find crouching tigers and hidden dragons in this forum. Do not play play!

Yes, we need these 3 things(Knowledge + Experience + Effort) to succeed in any investment. You had an aggressive trading strategy of 1,3,9 and...This would work well in a super bullish market like last year. I was told that some aggressive gamblers also employ this "system betting" strategy in casino. Unlike you, I have a more conservative approach to investment. That is why I can only make much smaller gains, but I am happy with that.

Everyone has his/her own investment style. We should tailor one that best meets our investment objectives, time horizons and risk profiles.

In any i3-investor forum thread, we can easily notice 3 broad categories of forumers:
1. Forumers who like to talk up the counter: These are pp who still own a stake of the counter and hope to attract more buyers;
2. Forumers who like to talk down the counter: 2 sub-groups: a) those who have sold the counter and hope to buy back much lower; b) those who get overly frustrated with the counter and tend to give biased comments without substantiation;
3. Runners of the operator: Could be an occasional forumer trying to find out the ground feeling and therein throwing in a high/low target price of the counter according to operator's game plan.

From the comments given, I can roughly categorise which group the forumers are in. I do not usually pay much attention towards obvious and/or unsubstantiated comments. When a counter is already in a downward movement, it is indeed a no-brainer to say the obvious. I will be more interested to hear the counter-arguments and do my own evaluations. Anyway, doing own research/analysis is still the best way forward.

skcm2017 has been a staunch buyer/supporter of Rubberex as he had made huge gains from it last year. So, in effect, he is buying back the shares that he had sold last year.

Just a word of caution though - Use dollar cost averaging method to average down holding costs in a more disciplined way, rather than haphazardly. First, formulate a plan, ie how much lower the share price could possibly drop to in the worst-case scenario? Next, plan out the top-up(buy) trigger points, based on available funds, ie spread out the purchases. Lastly, never put all eggs into one basket, ie diversify the portfolios.

Rubberex briefly touched 79.5 sen and closed at 80 sen today.

On closer examination, I found out the following:
1. Trading vol was not particularly high to suggest any insider selling. It appeared more like the operator was merely churning trading vol on a quiet trading day to meet his daily KPI as well as to test the water(eg panic selling) below 80 sen;
2. No apparent bad news about the company and glove counters as a whole were still holding their ground. The same thing had happened to Comfort Gloves too when it briefly broke below its recent 52-week low of RM 1.79 recently and bounced back a little on the subsequent day.

Rubberex will be releasing its corporate result by end of the month. We will soon find out how the company has performed.

As usual, not a buy or sell recommendation. Do your own analysis!

Big boys, eg market operators, very often dictate stock price movements and stocks have a tendency to move between cycles over time.

One good example is our steel counters. Way before the current bull run, we could see that most were pushed down to very pathetic levels. Nobody seemed interested and willing to talk about them and share prices languished for a while. This was perhaps the best time that the operators started to accumulate slowly and quietly.

What happened next? When the catalyst came, they started to push up the share prices to offload their cumulative holdings along the way up as well.

Gloves are currently in a bear run. Nobody can predict precisely how long this will last and how low the operators are going to press down. Be prepared to ride out this downcycle if you decide to hold longer for another bull cycle. If not, you should sell out on any price rally.

This current political development has weighed on our Bursa market. Most counters are affected.

Rubberex used to be a hot favorite among the punters in the past, hogging usually the top most actives list. But this has changed in recent time as its share price kept on dropping and many contra players turned away.

Now, I believe the shares are in stronger hands and those who are still holding on, despite my earlier warnings, are likely to have done some calculations and invest with a longer time horizon.

We should not throw stones on our poor investors who have fallen down the well!
