I trust Dr. Anthony Fauci more. Here's what he just recently said, reported by CNBC :
Scientists are hoping for a coronavirus vaccine that is at least 75% effective, but 50% or 60% effective would be acceptable, too, Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said during a Q&A with the Brown University School of Public Health. “The chances of it being 98% effective is not great, which means you must never abandon the public health approach.”

I think our DG said before that patients was tested for the antibody shows only ~50% level, should be ~90% after 2 or 3 months recovered back in June'20.

Hopefully one day SARS-Cov-2 mutates to less virulent strain just like the Spanish Flu or we develop the immunity.

I have to correct myself, Moderna is only in Phase I. If you believe, then China companies claimed that they are in Phase III trials already.

Moderna Inc.’s number is 45 patients....looks more like Phase II trial only. Not Phase III yet. Even with Phase III done, vaccine usage could face safety issues like Rotashield (rotavirus) in 1999, Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) due to swine flu vaccine in 1976 etc etc. Vaccine for Covid-19 is still some months away even if FDA is desperate and expedite all the protocol and process.

In Asia countries, we learnt to be obedient since young. In US, it's about individual rights. When we say lockdown, we lockdown. In US, they went for riot instead. So naturally the US Gov is desperate for any hope, vaccine nationalism.

vaccine may be success. But studies showing that antibody response level drop to 20% after 3 months, should be 80%~90% according to our Health DG (read The Star yesterday). This means even with vaccine approve by FDA, it doesn't provide long term protection and there's no such thing as herd immunity. Treatment also not full proof as of now. Looks like we could pray that the virus mutate just like the Spanish Flu case, hopefully by Dec'20 and not Dec'21.
